iOS 11.2 Beta 2 Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Still either not getting notifications, or getting notifications late on my iPhone 7.

Guess it’s time to restore as new.

Have you tried resetting network settings. That generally takes care of odd issues like that and doesn’t wipe out your device.

Strange, never happened on my 7+.

Anyone noticing heavy frame rate drops at 1% on 11.2 with either the X or 8 plus?

Honestly, my Plus never gets that low.

I've enrolled in the iOS beta in the hopes that it resolves my main infuriating issue is that it doesn't connect to my car via USB. ios10 on my iPhone 7 plus had literally 0 issues connecting as soon as i upgraded to ios 11 it won't connect. It eventually comes up connection error doesn't matter if i use Apple Music or Spotify, official apple cables or not nothing will make this work.

My car has Bluetooth but quite frankly the quality is like 1980s radio its not worth using. It worked in 10 I really hope they fix it, annoyingly I can't see any mention of it at all in any of the updates and i have only owned the car several months. Anyone got any ideas? (No I cannot get the firmware updated in the car its not that fancy but it should still work like it did before)

I’ve had more CarPlay connection issues on 11.2. Not much though, maybe 10% of the time I’ll get an error connecting.

Sort of hoping the battery life will match 11.2 beta 1. Thought I’d see how far it would go and two full days before a recharge is pretty good.

This version of beta is a disaster; I should’ve never upgraded.

Two biggest issues - system wide stuttering and frame rate drop and when I take iPods out of my ear the music decides to play out of my phone at full volume. Lead to an embarassing moment at work to say the least.

I agree with you. The sound in my car stereo is terrible. In face it used to sound like voice coming from mono speakers. But I have noticed it to be a tad better with iOS 11.2. Have you?

I also don’t have a fancy car. A normal stereo with Bluetooth but used to work really well earlier in iOS 10. I don’t know what could change?

I used to feel it and thought that I might be wrong but having read your post I thought there is definitely an issue.

I tried every official release of 11 and this beta and GPS is STILL broken(MAPS, Google Maps, Find My Friends, etc). None of these apps work now. Never had a problem in IOS 10.

Anyone else having issues with the music controls? When I hit shuffle nothing happens... if I tell Siri to shuffle it works, but the button seems to be broken at times.

Edit - seems to only be with Playlists.

Anybody else notice that the touch targets for the Now Playing widget in CC are off? Sometimes I try to press pause and it reads as skip instead

i have the same issue every night for me, ive noticed as soon as i do a power cycle it starts working again, i did a restore as well and still had the same issue

I cannot imagine this is the case. The timing is too perfect. Also, there are numerous posts on the Apple forums about the same issue.

Just tried with a 144 song playlist and all is working properly. No Apple Music here FYI.

Well this broke the slide up gesture to bring up the dock and multitasking on my iPad Pro. Works for a bit then randomly stop until i restart the device. And they still haven’t fixed the disappearing text entry/ keyboard in messages.

I’ve reported that first one too. iPad Pro 9.7
Even pressing the Dock icon in AssistiveTouch doesn’t work. Tho’ the multitasking icon does.

It’s still an issue for me after resetting all settings, network settings, then finally a full restore. Nothing seems to help.

I noticed this was an issue for others on the official Apple forums as well. I’ve filed reports for the last beta and this one as well. Hope they fix it soon.

Can anyone explain why my available storage dropped from 5.5GB to 3.0GB after installing Beta 2?? Has never done anything like this on any beta.

Maybe it's because of reports and you can try to connect it to iTunes and click on Reset warnings.

youtube app needs an update for 11.2, it gets the 7 plus hot & drains the battery randomly (starts then stops again) but only youtube does it.

Beta build 15C5097d on iPhone 6 is a huge improvement in speed and View transition animations. I sent in multiple bug reports and slo-mo videos about how bad 11 was on the 6 and maybe they heard it!

My 6 now seems to be working as it should, all those lags, home button and app start delays seem to have been fixed.

So why did the Apple iOS developer's break it to start with? They sure could have prevented a lot of bad press had they done some adequate testing on the older devices before the release.

Sorry for not reading the whole thread but is anyone else having issues getting the update to install? Worked perfectly on my phone but my iPad mini 4 (on 11.1 beta) won't update. Downloads the update and then when it's verifying it, I get an error saying not connected to internet. Deleted the update and reinstalled and different network and nothing. Did a restart and hard restart and nothing. Any suggestions?

Sending in a report: something seems to be bogged down in Notification Center and the widgets page. Swiping between these panes, especially at a faster pace, shows some animation stutter. Swipe inputs seem to be ignored fairly commonly as well.

I discovered tonight that if you have more than one AppleID set up on your device, the same AppleID must be used for iCloud and iMessage in order to use Apple Pay Cash.

Were you able to fix it? I only ask because I am signed into both iCloud and iMessage with the same login and I get the above message.
