Any place but here or there....
7+ and iPad Pro 2nd gen 12.9" have been very buggy since iOS11. Constant stuttering on the animations on the iPad and 7+, rapid battery drain once I start using both. Freezes and crashes and home button delay on iPad.

too much animation glitches on ios 11 we hope they fix it as downgrading back to ios 10 isn't an option for us all .

see doing a clean install doesn't help any bit rather it creates new bugs and lags
And yet that's not the case for others:
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...to-wipe-it-with-ios-11.2089116/#post-25488845
i'd still keep on saying it ios 10 was the best yet performance wise across all ios devices
And in the early days of iOS 10 people were raving how the last version of iOS 9 was the greatest since iOS 10 was buggy and had different issues for different people in those days.

Even the iPad has home button delay? Man that sucks. Good thing I dodged a bullet there.

I absolutely love the satisfaction of having my iPad Pro stay on iOS 10 and have Timmy not ruin my device with battery drain and home button delay. The rebel in me is smiling as I am going to remain a part of that 12% or so on that marketing chart Apple puts up at their keynote
Yep, you are one of the smart ones. ;-) Moral of the story is don't change what works, and that includes updating the iOS simply to get the latest useless features. Now with the yearly OS updates of varying quality, and the highly mature features already in place, it's simply not worth it - or necessary. At least wait 3-4 months after the new iOS has been released, minimum.

Don't forget the exaggerated battery drain with iOS 11 also shortens the battery lifespan, having to constantly charge your iPhone.

I’m old enough to remember when some folks were calling iOS 10 crap and now it’s the gold standard.

Next year iOS 11 will be the bees knees and 12 will be the planned obsolescence monster. ;)
IOS 10 is crap.
Literally just a few gimmicks, removed a couple features and made the UI uglier, I especially love how when you delete emails in the mail app they come back. Only thing good about it was deleting stock apps and that's about it.

My 6s ran great with IOS 11 - the best it ever did - smooth fast, long battery life. My X is the same - i run all day long and when I put in on charge to go to bed it has 65% and more battery left.

I did a clean install last night with no restored backup info and it has helped, albeit only slightly.
Done that twice now and even as New. After having multiple suspended windows or screens, the text input LAG comes back. I have to swipe out every single one. Then it clears up again.

Hasn't been too bad for me but it's only been 3 days...

A clean install as new/factory using no backup does help. To @kagharaht post, some of the issues, in part or whole come back to haunt you.

Generally by the seventh release of iOS 10 (which was iOS 10.2.1) the OS was largely ironed out and well polished, there weren't many complaints, certainly people weren't still asking to downgrade to iOS 9! That can't be said for the seventh release of iOS 11 (11.1.2) which is still running horribly for most. People are STILL trying to downgrade to iOS 10 SEVEN versions in!!! It's unheard of.

It's great we have threads like this so that anytime in the future I get a small itch to update my 6s beyond 10.3.3... I'll simply come back and read all the horror stories here ;):D:p

P.S. sorry to all the 5s, 6, and 6s owners who's phones got wrecked  Thank you for your sacrifice for the good of the community! R.I.P.

Include iPhone 7 in that too.

Whoops, you're right *brain-fart*

Sucks because I actually considered of getting a 7+ since my mom lost her 6s and I could give her mine... but I've heard iOS 11 doesn't play too well with the 7+ battery life.

Dunno if I wanna spend more than $900 for an 8+, case, and screen protector just so I can get a device that doesn't get wrecked by the latest iOS from Apple

iOS 11.1.2 seems to have addressed most of the issues I was having on my iPad Air 2.

At this point I would say battery life and performance are comparable to 10.3.3

That's just the placebo effect. Already clean wiped my device 5 times. Still a horrible experience of iOS 11.

You could be right, I did feel like it was a little quicker. It's strange I could never get universal copy and paste working and unlock with apple watch until I did the clean install.

Funny that when iOS 11 was presented and I saw the iPad improvements I was like I'm going to update to iOS 11 right now on my 9.7 Pro. Then I remembered what iOS 7 did to my iPad 4, and as soon as I started to read all your experiences in this forum I said this iPad is staying permanently on iOS 9.3.4 - which is as stable as I'll get.

My iPad is older than your pro and working fine with iOS 11.1.2.

The dock makes multitasking usable.

I don't dispute the usability of improvements. I partly regret not having iOS 10, I could have some use for Safari split-screen, which isn't available on iOS 9, it was introduced on iOS 10. The iPad experience was surely improved in iOS 11, but I have no Apple Store where I live.
If anything goes awry, Apple won't help. I cannot have the device I use the most crippled by an update. It's too big of a risk. I cannot have performance dropping, crashes, and battery life decreasing. Because if any issues arise - and I am not saying they will inevitably arise - I cannot fix them. Neither can Apple from here. I'm out of luck, and as long as it works fine, I'd rather stay without the improvements but have a perfectly stable iPad.
