Its definitely not public release. OTA and iTunes 11.2.6 is up to date. Air 2, iPhone 8 Plus.

They are releasing it for new iPad as a beta, so once it comes out they can update to it. Just like they did for the X.

This is new iPad only. Just like the X. The new iPad needs the beta so people can restore from backup.

The new iPad isn’t even being sold yet... very strange.

They need a shipping build for the new iPad both cellular and WiFi models

It’s not, the build number is different. Beta 6 has an “a” at the end

Its still "in beta". It appears to be the GM build - but that can change.

So? Its the GM build. Which is almost identical to B6, minus the beta numbers.

Not entirely. This doesnt have beta code in it. No longer has the feedback app. They dropped the '5' which means not public suitable, and the 'a'.
