I know, but my point is they didn't fix and stable iOS 11 in 1 year, then Apple should stop iOS 11 beta testing and work on iOS 12 perfection and stability.
That can be said pretty much about any version really. And they have already been working on iOS 12 for a while now.

With WWDC'18 just around the corner I suppose iOS 11.4 would be released this week or at the latest next week? I'm just hoping we'll see AudioOS 11.4 as well so I can finally start testing AirPlay 2 and Stereo-Pairing on my HomePod's.

If ClassKit isn't supposed to be available until June, I doubt we see 11.4 before WWDC. It will probably be the day after. So June 5th.

I bet they release the 11.4 GM at the keynote. They're not going to release a major point update directly before (today) or after (Tuesday) a holiday weekend in the US.

I would say today is a possibility. Tomorrow, less so, as for many it will be a half-day of work and, as you point out, directly ahead of a major holiday weekend here in the US. Anytime next week from Tuesday on is also a possibility.

Very few iOS releases in the month of June. Not that that means anything, but I'd bet today is a pretty strong possibility...

Very few iOS updates in June because there have been very few iOS updates post WWDC. This is only the third X.4 out of 11 iOS versions. So that’s a statistically flawed assumption.

I do think it will be released on Tuesday after Memorial Day. I don't think they want to go into the keynote with features missing in iOS 11 that were promised a year ago on the same day they announce the next iOS version. At this point we should have been cruising into WWDC with iOS 11 waiting for new features. Not old ones yet to be implemented.

How is this any different than Apple Music? It came out almost 4 weeks after WWDC which was announced prior to WWDC. Sure, it wasn't 9 months before, but it was still before. You can't say it is a year, because iOS 11 didn't drop until Mid-September.

It’s completely different because Apple Music was announced at WWDC 2015 and was released as an update to iOS 8 which came out the previous year. This time around, there are features announced at WWDC 2017 that may not be implemented before WWDC 2018. Using your statistic of time between announcement and release, you’re really saying that 1 year is no different than 4 weeks?

One thing to note, though, is Apple may say "We didn't release AirPlay 2 because, despite our best efforts, it wasn't ready for release." Could be a nice segue into iOS 12 as a "fixing the OS" release.

If I recall correctly, Apple Music was introduced at the March Event. Thus it would be 3 months. Apple Music was part of iOS 8.4 and that went into beta on April 13, 2015 and the GM shipped June 30th.

And it doesnt matter if it was introduced at WWDC 2017, because iOS doesnt even ship until 3 months later.
