iOS 12.1 Beta 1― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

My Xs lags AF as I get to 1% battery.

And nightshift doesnt enable itself when the phone is restarted

Screentime activity doesn’t show up on my phone when trying to access kids app’s they used. I’m in 12.1 beta 1 kid is on iOS 12.0.

I can change kids screentime limits and downtime only. (But no graph or what apps they were using)

Anyone else notice this?
 
I’m on 12.1 b1 on an XS Max and don’t see Depth Control while shooting a photo (I only see it in post editing). RedmondPie was reporting the feature. Anyone else get that working?
 
I am unable to see the battery power of my Samsung Level U Headphones on Batteries widget

Is anyone facing similar issues? I am on iPhone 6S Plus w/ 12.1 Dev Beta.


My iPad Air 2 running iOS 12.1 Public beta shows them in the widget.

I installed it this afternoon and used it on the evening commute. I actually stopped halfway at a grocery store I wouldnt normally use and uninstalled it. That’s how horrible it is. I’d rather get a ticket than use this.

Been like that all thru the iOS 12 betas for me, although it briefly worked during 1 of the betas and then was broken when they released the next beta.

I don’t think it works between beta to release.

I’m on 12.1 and Kids iPads on 12.0 release. I can’t see either. But friends who are all on 12.0 release can.

I’m not overly fussed at the moment as I control when they get access to the device anyway. But would be nice if it would work properly even on the beta.

Yes I know it’s a beta before any Einstein’s out there point that out to me!

I turned off screentime on the kids iPhone and turned it back on. Now I can see the kids screen time on my iPhone again.

I installed the Waze update and attempted to use it this morning on the way to work and CarPlay wouldn't even come up for me. Figured it had something to do with the beta.

What's so bad about it?

Well, firstly I won't pretend it's anything but my own opinion. YMMV for sure. My issue is that the map is very ugly and noisy and even has weird shimmering and aliasing on distant roads, something I didn't see from Apple or Google maps in CarPlay. It also seems covered in mystery icons, only a few of which I recognized as companies/brands. Ugly and distracting is how I'd sum it up. The "English boyband" voice cracked me up though, I'll say that for it.

If you're used to and like Waze I'd imagine you'd be happy enough with it though? It does what it says.

I see. I take it you're not a regular Waze user.

I've disabled pretty much everything on the map like other drivers, restaurants, etc. The only thing I keep up is gas stations and now that I'm discussing it, even that seems pointless.

When I was jailbroken on iOS 11, there was a tweak I bought that allowed me to use Waze on CarPlay and it was as you've described with the aliasing. Just looked like crap all around. I figured it was because the app hadn't been optimized for it but it sounds like they've still got work to do.

I wish Google would just add the reporting function to Google Maps and be done with it.

I'm not. Maybe I could've tweaked it a bit with the icons. I didn't realize it was an option. It's just not for me though, I think. It's cool that people who like it have the option to use it now though.
 
Using my AirPods last night and I could only get audio from the right channel, decided to reboot and try again and then only got audio from the left channel o_O.

Gave up and this morning went through the forget this device and then repairing and it worked properly again.

Not a bug I’ve ever seen before.
 
Can anyone on a xs or xs max please check the itunes trailer of deadpool 2? My xs lags randomly alot in trailers or movies but its a kind of slow stuttering so you cant really tell if its from the movie or lags. I noticed it on the trailer of extinction in the netflix app and checked the same trailer on my ps4 pro. No lags in this trailer but on my xs its lagging. The whole os/ui feels so unpolished on the xs its stupid. My 7 with ios 12 is a lot more fluid than iphone xs on ios 12.1.
