The depth slider is now present when taking a portrait pic. Slide up in the view finder and it will show up. Don’t know if it’s been mentioned in previous pages but don’t see it mentioned in the first post.

I don’t know, if this was present on previous versions of iOS: Reachability is very inconsequent. If you activate it, you have to swipe down from the lowered right edge (where your wallpaper ends) to activate the control center. But you can’t swipe from the lowered left edge (again where the wallpaper ends) to see drop down notifications. No no, instead you have to swipe down from ABOVE the lowered left edge of the screen (black upper part of the screen). I think, this is totally counterintuitive.

I have an iPhone X. My friend has a XS. When I was on 12.0 he sent me a picture that was shot in portrait mode and I was able to change the depth of field. I updated to 12.1 and now have no options for editing the Portrait Lighting, or the depth of field on that picture. Bug?

Anyone try to register the XS or XS max with developer site yet? iTunes no longer shows UDID, so cant register device. iTunes only shows EDID which will not work.

Have you figured out how to find the UDID yet? Any help would be great.

Wow the battery isn’t great on 12.1 especially overnight. I’m sure in early 12.0 betas and even iOS 11.4.1 I only lost 1-2%.

Has anyone else seen how much they lose overnight? Or do you all plug in all night? I do normally but on occasion let it be all night.

My X is on a 7.5w wireless charger all night as I use sleep cycle.

12.1 is definitely better for me than 12.0 GM. But iirc one of the betas (think it was 8) had a lot better battery life than any 11 or 12 OS so far.

Is there any carrier allowing use of eSim yet?

Can't speak for US - but in the UK, EE are outright refusing to activate eSIM on the phones. They're stating that they're waiting for Apple to make the feature available before they can do so (despite Apple making the feature available in the beta).

9:00pm - 100%. 6:00am 98%. 9 hrs. 8+ 12.1 b1.
Yes I hve 7 plus and 12.1 and I’m having very bad battery life, as I types this and read other forums I saw 3 percent drop with my own eyes, it’s just eating battery non stop! I haven’t had battery issues at all in beta 12 now that I got 12.1 I can see it’s totall garbage! But what can you do that’s beta life nd in about a month I’ll be upgrading to XS MAX anyway so it’s kinda part of testing u know. I keep my chargers near me for. Now as it always have been the battery issues seems to get better and better over time! That’s just how Apple betas are u know

iPhone Xs -> played music for about half an hour on 100% volume = 20% battery drop lol
Yep, if I go on Facebook and watch some videos for 30 MIn forget I’m at like 65 percent from a full 100 in no time. I was at 85 percent battery while reading all this and typing I’m at 79 percent now and it’s been 12 minutes lol

How far did you get with EE? I’m in the same boat and was hoping to make the switch to eSIM.

Still having a bit of an argument with them on Twitter.

People are enquiring about eSIM support (you only have to search to see - there's not many but people clearly want it lol https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=ee esim&src=typd), but EE are just blaming it on Apple.

I've tweeted again today asking for clarification as the process to actually commission the eSIM appears to be in the 12.1 Beta (rather than just being able to see it in iOS 12).

My phone updated to 12.1 overnight on its own. I have not noticed any difference. Phone has been off charge since 630 and it's now 1030 and I'm at 97%. Batt life is equal if not better.

I can understand EE being hesitant. Imagine there's an issue e.g. for whatever reason the SIM doesn't properly activate, or the functions in the beta re swapping primary lines fails to work, then what? You call EE. EE calls Apple. Apple say "it's a beta, we might even pull the entire eSim thing out before we go live for all we care. Remember iMessage in the cloud? Remember FaceTime up to 32 people?".

There is something funny with the 12.1 beta, I don’t have any profiles on my phone yet yesterday the red circle appeared for a firmware update, but checking for an update said iOS 12 was up to date.

Today without any warning or interaction I’ve now got “iOS 12.1 Developer beta Downloaded, install now”.

Did you reboot your phone after deleting the beta profile?

Yes, it’s been rebooted a few times. Profile was removed after the GM. I’d say the phone has been rebooted, and hard reset at least 3 or 4 times in between.
