iOS 12 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

When asking Siri to send a message to someone,she respond that messages can’t find the person in contacts,even if it’s there. Only way is to tell Siri the whole phone number.
 
In Music I can assign Like/Dislike (hearts), but I can't assign a star rating. Anyone else having this issue?

First off...it’s public beta 2, not 3.

Second, if it already updated, it will still say iOS 12.

You’ll need to go to “general” and “about” to see which build you have to verify if you are still in beta 1 or if you in fact already updated to beta 2.

Do you still have the beta profile installed? There is usually a delay between the time the IPSW comes out that the OTA is available, but it's usually less than 20-30 minutes... so it should be there.

Also, there was NO public beta 1, so the numbers for the public beta are one less than the dev beta... we're currently on dev preview (beta) 3, and the comparable/equivalent public beta is v2.

Thanks guys. So currently we are on public beta 2. I'll check the build I have later.

In terms of glitches - whereas previously when I selected a notification from the lock screen I wasn't being asked for my passcode and going straight in to the message (major security issue), I now cannot collapse grouped messages. When I click on the group it takes me straight to the passcode screen.

I would report this to Apple via the reporting app, but the reporting app says that apple can then have access to my calendar and mail inbox. Not too sure I want to give away those privileges!!!
 
Anyone else been having issues with Touch ID being slightly temperamental on ios12? I’m sometimes having to try 3-4 times to make a payment.

I haven’t...but it did happen to me a couple of months ago in iOS 11.

I simply redid my fingerprints. But yeah, it was weird.

Nope, it asks for an update but there is no update in the Airport app. I assume it’s coming in the near future, since the AE shows up in the Home app since 11.4 and now we have this new dialog box in ios 12. Some progress is being made, that’s very promising I think...

Seems they broke the Play All button for downloaded albums in the Music App. When I tap "Downloaded Music", then pick any album and tap the "Play" button in the album view, it presents me with the Apple Music subscription pop up. Never plays unless I actually tap a song. Then it plays. Posted the bug to Apple via the feedback app. Would think THAT app would be safe from bugs. Anyone else see this happen?

I would imagine that takes an update on Googles part. Think most devs would wait till final release before rolling out a new app with features dependent on a new iOS. Last thing you or they want is it to crash while driving because of iOS beta changes.
 
So is GPS messed up for Google Maps and Pokemon Go in the public beta? Or is it only effecting Waze? I heard elsewhere that GPS was messed up all around. Not sure if that's true or if it's only for the iPhone X.

I'm on a 6 Plus and would really like to upgrade up to it. iOS 11 has been bad for me in terms of performance.
 
Does anyone actually double check anything anymore either? why is the weather widget being reported as not working? When it is? And those that complaining about it don’t have location set to “always” for it? Come on man. It’s been reported to Apple as a bug for so long and they say it isn’t. If it’s a different issue, be more detailed. Let’s get this forum back on track.

Back on topic. No more resprings happening with this beta for me. Performance and battery life is more consistent. Notifications is buggy within the X button. My Apple Watch 3 lost all my contacts names. So all I see now is numbers and emails. It’s also a little unstable even though it’s not on beta. Trying to hold off on a reset to see if next beta fixes it. GPS works fine. Used it for 30mins Downtown Manhattan while walking. I’ve seen some inconsistencies last week.

Majority of feedback that I've seen is that GPS has been fixed on PB2 (DP3). It certainly has been fixed on my X.
 
Public beta downloaded automatic but didnt install because I had it unplugged
, I like the old auto fill design on beta 1 and notifications bugs I had are ok now

You mean the weather widget bug that’s in the list of Resolved Bugs?

And besides, why are you barking orders at people when it’s a community effort and you could help by verifying and curating the wiki?

I see zero contributions from you in the history.

I’ve got this beta of iOS 12 on my iPad and loving the new layout of click etc. Will this be the same on iPhone 7/8? I really like the changes they made!
 
Notification Centre is not appearing if we slide down from top of locked screen.
It however appears if we unlock the phone and then slide down from the top.
Anyone?

You are meant to slide up from the middle on the lock screen
