iOS 14.4 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

How often do you guys film videos when someone is talking?
I've got a XS that was updated yesterday. Filmed a video today and the sound of the voice was very quiet. Got confused, checked the speaker – the speaker is fine, the music is playing loud as always.
Recorded another piece – same thing. Cleaned the microphone, restarted the phone, nothing resolves an issue.
The phone wasn't exposed to water or anything else that could potentially damage it. Wondering if someone else is experiencing this. Anyone?
UPD: FiLMic Pro records the audio perfectly well!

Can't say about the XS but I am not seeing an issue with this on the 11 or 12 ProMax.
Hope you figure it out.
 
Now my 2020 11” Pro freezes up every so often. Not sure if it’s due to magic keyboard, but this happened at least twice so far. Once so bad had to reset it using vol/power button. Not sure why I keep buying devices from a company that can’t even update the software properly for their latest device :(

I've been seeing my IPP 11 2020 freeze up on and off the MK. Seeing it more often on graphic intensive apps.
This has been happening to me since beta 1.

Actually just happened again without MK, but with Magic Trackpad 2 and third party BT keyboard. This is seriously frustrating and had to reset with vol/power. Most disappointing update ever for me.

Search in OneDrive folders has always been hit or miss for me (mostly miss)

I also decided to see how things were. Searches are yielding folders, but no files.

Anyone having problems with Apple Maps since the 14.4 release? I’m not seeing anything in the widget or app. The background (map itself) is just blank. Issue persists after a restart. This is on an iPhone 12. My 2020 Air seems to be ok.
 
I know this isn’t the right place for it, but the HomePod forum is kinda slow and figured I’d give this a shot...

Has anyone had an issue with HomePod sleep timers since the 14.4 update? Since updating my iPhone 12 mini and HomePod mini to 14.4, HomePod no longer allows me to set a sleep timer for anything shorter than an hour.

I used to be able to say “hey Siri - sleep timer 30 seconds” and it would stop playing music in 30 seconds. Now it just says “there are no sleep timers on HomePod.”

I can say “hey Siri - stop in 30 seconds” and it works fine, but I’m wondering if anyone else is able to replicate my specific issue involving the words “sleep timer.”

That’s a step up from what I get then. Mine shows absolutely nothing unless I open the document first then it will show momentarily in the search before disappearing again.

I did another full OS install through finder and everything seems to be working better. The iMessage blank icon issue still persists but is less frequent. You might want to give it a shot.

The point is not the overall duration, it’s the difference between the two versions. From 14.2.1 to 14.3 I noticed an improvement in the battery, from 14.3 to 14.4 not only the battery got worse but it is also less consistent. Within the same day it passes from a standby consumption of 0.4%/h to 1%/h without using it.
