I noticed that.

Has anyone else on T-Mobile noticed that when you go in to Settings -> Cellular that your cellular still drops out (at least this time I'm not losing my calling over Wifi when I do it).
Yup. Also missing the SA 5G setting. And seeing the dropout.
I had a video call with my doctor , I believe when on SA 5G. Was on 14.5 b3 at the time. After approx 17 mins the phone shutdown, and displayed a message saying the phone is too hot and needs to cool down.
I think they are having problems implementing SA 5G on these iPhones. Hope they don’t abandon SA on these models.

Why are they even bothering with iOS 14.5 if they can’t get it working properly. At this rate we will be on beta 99 before the final version released. Best just to scrap it and start developing iOS 15
Possibly because this will be the last release that supports a lot of iPhones. For example 6s, 6s+ and SE all rumoured to be endgamed.

I noticed that the back top half become hot in some circumstances. I can’t identify how and when, unfortunately.

Mine (12PM) keeps getting very warm around the upper back area by the volume/silence switches. Usually just below the Apple Logo will get warm also.

Have seen this in past betas and usually a hard reboot fixes the issue.
Will try that later today...

Update: a hard reboot did not fix the issue. Did a hard reboot last night and put it on the charger. Did a Zoom Business audio call and the back got very warm.

Define “can’t get it working properly”.

Are you referring to the bugs recounted in here that affect about .0001% of the install base? 99.99 people out of a hundred don’t know what “raised blacks” or “green tint” or “purple smears” are.

Fewer care.

Let’s get real here and stop with the ridiculous hyperbole. iOS, like everything created by man, has flaws. Deal with it.

Here’s an odd and tiny one I haven’t seen mentioned here (and I only noticed it because of my ocd) - the ‘click’ sound that occurs with then you press either the camera or flashlight toggle stops working if you’re using a live wallpaper (the sound works if you don’t activate the live wallpaper animation, but if you even do it once, it stops). You have to unlock and re-lock your phone to get it working again.

Happens every time on my 12PM. Anyone else?

I’ve noticed it too when watching videos, recording videos or long periods with screen on…

where exactly do you see this? i'm checking the battery setting menu but nothing like that appears. After a quick check on google it seems to be linked to a higher usage after an iOS upgrading.
In battery settings soon as I open the page, must be nothing like you said.

I did once, but I don't look at battery stats any more so of course haven't noticed it again.

It comes up after an iOS upgrade if, as most people do, you end up playing with your phone more than usual post upgrade. It seems solely designed to stop people posting "OMG battery gone to ****" to forums immediately after upgrading and testing out every single app while watching youtube videos and playing music and ...

I notice them. But like you mentioned, I don’t care. I just use the device the way I need to. If I purposely sit here and look for every little defect, I’d drive myself insane.

Agree here. We're here because we're into our Apple stuff, and there's some fun to be had in being early adopters and even calling out and sharing the bugs.

I'm also on T-Mobile on an iPhone XR and installed the 14.5 Public beta 5. My cellular data is not working at all which means no internet, no iMessage. However, the signal bars show up with the LTE logo. I am able to connect via wifi without any issues. Is there a way to downgrade to a previous beta release?
