I wouldn’t mind giving this ago, but I’m slightly concerned about someone earlier on saying their phone calls get disconnected. As it would have to be my, and I hate this saying with a passion, daily driver, as I use it for my business, I can’t risk phone calls.

Can anyone else chime in about how they’re finding phone calls, both making and receiving please?
Made a call to my son earlier and while I could hear him, he could not hear me. hung up and let him call me and no issues. After that call I called him back and he could hear me just fine. Each time I was using my phone while connected to CarPlay.

Other than that, no issues to speak of with calls.

Wallet app actually contributes to my free storage space

I think I figured out the bug. If you reboot with the smart battery case on the phone, at least with my iPhone 11 Pro Max, something doesn’t load right with iOS 14. And it starts locking up Safari like crazy. Getting “A problem repeatedly occurred” in Safari.

Take it out of the case. Works fine again. Put it back in the case immediately, Buggy again. All web pages fail to render.

After typing this post, put the smart battery case on again, and it’s fine.
Was weird for me. Was working for sites I already had loaded, but when I tried a brand new tab, the site failed until I took the case off.

Currently unable to get my BMW to pair with CarPlay wirelessly. Get a ‘Unable to establish connection’ error in the car. Anyone else?

Same here, 2017 x3. I tried rebooting iPhone multiple times, deleted existing phone profiles on my BMW. When I try to setup CarPlay, the iPhone shows a successful setup as my car shows up under "My Car" but BMW says that it's not able to connect each time I try.

Not sure if this has been posted - but home control centre has gone?

And no widget either so no quick way of using HomeKit stuff without shortcuts?

How do I change from native mail to Outlook?

Edit: I'll wait...

Installed iOS14 on an original SE, and got some nice home screen bugs after adding some widgets.. :)

I’m not one for putting beta software on my iPhone or iPad, but I like to follow the beta season progress and thank you brave souls who partake, share experiences here, report bugs and feedback suggestions to Apple, to ensure iOS is as good as can be come public release. 🙂

I have a couple of questions please 😊.

  1. It’s nice to see the option to choose incoming calls to be shown as a banner rather than taking over the full device. From what I’ve seen, the options are to reject or accept the call. If I’m doing something on my iPhone/iPad when a call comes in, I like to use the “respond with text” feature, where I’ll choose one of a preset number of options, and it’ll automatically decline the call and send a SMS/iMessage with whichever preset message I chose. Are you able to do this on iOS14 with the banner style incoming calls? For example, a long press on the banner might bring up the option to do so.
  2. Is autocorrect / QuickPath typing (the swipe typing) improved? I find it annoying in iOS13 that it will change a previously correct word. Forexample, it often does this with the word than. It will be correct when I initially swipe type it, then I swipe type the next word, only to find that it inexplicably has changed than to then.
  1. The banner itself just has answer (green) and decline (red). However if you tap anywhere else in the banner, you get the old familiar phone "page" with the message options.
  2. Anecodatally, the swiping seems a bit better. My equivalent of your issue, is the juxtaposition of the "in" and "on". I'm usually trying for the latter but I get the former. The beauty of the Ken Kocienda-designed keyboard was its contextual algorithms that corrected words based on the context of the sentence it appeared in. This seems to have been lost somewhat over the past 13 years.

does anyone have any tips or tricks re: dealing with the "Other" space ballooning up to take up most of the phone? not super concerning but wanted to try to fix that on my end. willing to do a restore and set up as new if it does fix things
Some say a hard reset fixes this, but it did not for me. I'd start with an iTunes sync, then a restart, then a hard reset, then a restore and only then a set up as new. My

It's in the control centre. If not, go activate it in Settings / Control Centre.
And the nice thing about it is that your most frequently used devices have their own "controls" in CC.

Fairly big bug:

I encountered a facetime bug (my video and theirs disappeared for me, and now I just have a black screen in the app switcher, even now the call is over).

So then I tried to turn my phone off properly by holding power + vol. Spent 5 mins before I realised even just pressing power button wasn't turning my screen off (although holding it will still bring up siri).

Then noticed I now cannot open any apps - not from home screen, from widgets, or even asking siri to open one (siri just says 'I couldn't open X. My apologies.'

Not sure what to do here, but phone just hit 20% so hopefully it runs out soon-ish.
I set up an accessibility feature where I triple click the power button and a fake home button pops up. I set that up so double clicking restarts my phone. Easiest way for me to do it on my XS

I had a weird one with the weather widget. I added one, but it was the only thing on the screen. I could switch to apps, but I couldn't get back to the home screen. If I pressed home, it took me to that widget again with nothing else. I had to restart to fix it. Fortunately, I could restart normally and didn't have to do the up down power thing.

Does anyone know exactly what wind down is supposed to do before your sleep alarm range starts. Do you need to install more apps, or is it just not totally implemented yet?

Think it’s just supposed to be whatever you normally do to wind down. For me, YouTube videos down low but I don’t think Apple is giving us a wind down feature itself

If you have apps like Calm , it will suggest that to help you relax before bed. It should (but doesn’t apparently) suggest apps if you don’t have them already

Oh wow. Didn’t see the toggle above the rest of them. Fml.

My excuse is that my phone is in a diff language I’m learning and I was looking for the home icon in the lower list 🤦🏻‍♂️
Yeah, it's weird that it's not in the list with all the other options. I don't know why it's separated out; maybe due to the fact it can't be moved around.

This is new “rendering video” after editing a video in Photos app, i forgot what it used to say in iOS 13, it also used to be in the centre of the screen..

Anyone having issues where text messages aren't being forwarded? My iPhone is iOS 13 and my iPad is iOS 14. Text messages are not being forwarded to the iPad. I check my settings on my phone and it is turned to do do so.

Update - Rebooted everything and it seems to be working.
