Do the storage issues occur if you go from 13.5.1 to 14 beta 2? Perhaps the storage issues are just left over from beta 1.

Beta 2 still has the storage issues. Apple didn’t fix it yet

I wonder if them pushing the public beta out this week means beta 3 on Tuesday.
Hopefully because they need to fix that storage issue

Let's see. 14 PB1 is out, 14 Dev 1 is out, 14 Dev 2 is out, but they each were called either Public Beta or Developer Beta depending on server they came from. Now 13.6 GM is out, oops or was it 13.5.5 or something. Damn, now I don't know if it's my new wife, one of my 2 ex wives or my current girlfriend coming over for dinner.

Somebody wake me in Sept for 14.1 beta whatever.

My “other” storage hangs around 7.2GB so not having that bug. Is it device specific meaning some devices are spared? 64GB 2020SE
Edit: just noticed it dropped to 6.5GB. It fluctuates as I watch it.

The first public beta for iOS 13 was released on June 24th 2019, a week after the second developer beta (same build, June 17th 2019).

How about you post evidence to your pattern claims? I've been rocking / following every Beta for over 10 years and can't remember any release, since they introduced PBs, that had the first PB show up shortly after a developer beta. It was usually always a week (if not longer for the first few releases) after a developer beta.

woops looks like the evidence has appeared.

If "kids" agree to the terms of a beta then something like that shouldn't really be that surprising.

I mean but come on it's a pretty big bug that shouldn't even be released even in the Public Beta. It would be fine if it was taking up like 10 GBs or less but there been people saying it's taking up much much more than that on some of their devices. I'm not saying that the public beta should be bug free but again it's a pretty big bug you can't miss

And it seems to be PB2 actually (to match up with DB2 probably).

And probably also because of the limited number of “invite only “ people who got a “public” beta when DP1 was released 2 weeks ago.

And why is it a “pretty big bug”? I see lots of complaints about its existence but many, many fewer about ill effects stemming from it.

There are some complaints about it certainly, but at the same time it doesn't seem like everyone by far is experiencing it or is really inconvenienced by it. That isn't to say that it isn't an issue or that it's not an important issue, but it might not necessarily be as critical/severe in the context of a beta in particular.
