Oh, please. There's a huge difference between that vs. people pronouncing "nothing" five minutes before 1pm on a likely release day.

What's the point? Why not just wait until 1:05 or 1:10 before posting "nothing today"?

I feel like this happens to you all the time: you prematurely announce that there's no release, only to see the release show up five minutes later. Obviously you're free to do whatever you want and post whatever you want, but it's annoying as hell.
I don't understand the rationale for you declaring there is a huge difference.
I don't find any difference between my statements and the same repeated queries of others about expectations of a release.
I can similarly negate your statement.
Why not then instead wait for the time instead of guessing whether it is going to be released or not? Whats the point in guessing? Same is also applicable to everyone.

Sure, but I think the subjectively annoying aspect at hand, to be specific, is the degree to which a speculative statement is certain/overly-presumptive in its tone
That degree is also differently subjective to different people.
So "to each his own" cannot itself be subjective. It has to be equally applicable to all.

To be fair, arguably at least as subjectively annoying as posters being chided for speculating on a speculation thread.

Also arguable that tone policing "certain/overly presumptive" is a projection from the reader(s).

I read this thread under the premise that no one posting on it is an Apple iOS software engineer, so no one knows anything, has any inside scoop, or even has the ability to be "overly" presumptive, because unassailable information is not available to any of us—making all speculations and tea leaf-readings equal.

I hope the Public Beta shows up tomorrow.

I agree.
We all are speculating or presuming.
How it is interpreted, varies with the reader. No one can claim to police the views within the limits of decency.

Expected 14.4.1 or later. 14.5 is coming?
What is wrong with 14.4? I think there will be only 14.5 with new features.
I'm currently on 14.5 beta just for faceID unlock with Apple Watch. I don't have any issues with 14.4 at all (my wife has it, our 2 iPads has it. No issues at all).

There is nothing wrong with him. I was just asking if 14.4.1 is coming or will it be 14.5

There needs to be a 14.4.1 to fix the stuttering issues and tint issues. This has been fixed in latest 14.5 beta but no doubt apple will make everyone wait for final 14.5 release.

Why not install the public beta? I realize the general population likely isn't aware of its availability but for those around here that are waiting for those fixes and know they're in there I just don't see the logic behind waiting.

I could be wrong about this because I've been on the beta cycle the whole time, so all I've been seeing are 14.x releases. But would I be correct in saying this year has seen less 14.x.x releases than in past years? Maybe it's just because all I'm getting are 14.x, but it seems like they've been pushing out the smaller ones even less than past years.

If that's an accurate observation, I'm not so sure I'd expect to see a 14.4.1 (anything's possible of course, though)!

I don’t want a beta on my phone.

ZolloTech hinting at something today. Not sure if he means 14.4.1 and to be fair he’s generally wrong.

I will just be patient and wait for the stable public release. Seems excellent reasoning to me. Don’t be so patronising for no reason. Pathetic.

Enjoy your potentially buggy beta and probably inferior battery life, and thanks for using your devices as a guinea pig so that others can enjoy a stable final release!
This is awesome. Can one of you direct me to a thread for a public release where people aren't complaining of bugs? Or how about posts indicating the latest beta isn't stable?

I don't mind waiting.

The reason these builds are called 'beta' is pretty self explanatory, unless you're a rock. I don't care what bugs there are on the latest beta, and I don't care even if you say they're flawless. I'm not using them.

As far as public releases go, sure, there are bugs here and there, I myself have a random stutter issue that happens from time to time on my 12 Pro Max, but at least I have solid battery life and don't have to deal with half baked features.

If you say you want to try out stuff before a public release, power to you, my friend, whatever floats your boat. But don't condescend others if their opinion differs from yours.
