Im now thinking if the audio is dropping in June, they will beta test it and release 14.6 with the new lossless audio in June, I doubt the new iPad and iMac need 14.6 etc

I'm pretty sure they'll release 14.6 this month because of Apple Card Family. Lossless audio with 14.7 perhaps

New Pride watch band will be available next week which would suggest a public release of watchOS 7.5 to support the new watch face. 14.6 alongside it most likely.

No, the new watch face will be "included" with the band via an App Clip (from 9to5mac):
For the first time, Apple is also including new App Clip functionality within the band packaging to deliver a simple and convenient way for customers to immediately access the new matching watch face.

It might as well be part of watchOS 7.5 final when it arrives but release is not bound to the availability of the new band.

To me that sounds like you will still need watchOS 7.5 and scanning the App Clip will just automatically set the watch face on your watch.

“The 2021 Pride watch face is coming soon as part of a software update.”

With Apple Music "lossless" and "extra lossless" coming in June, I suppose we will have a beta today/ tomorrow and another one a week later, with the final release on June 1. Or a beta today/ tomorrow and release next week, with the lossless and granddaddy lossless coming in June whenever they do.

My guess is that we get 14.6 RC this week (possibly today) with a public release next Monday for the release of new watch bands and watch face on 5/25. The new Apple Music features could be activated server side for those with 14.6

I think beta 4 today, could even come with the new audio settings for devs to try out
Not the first time they did something like that. Back when Apple Music was revealed at WWDC (with iOS 9 being showcased) they also released iOS 8.4 Beta that had it enabled with a free 3 month trial included for everyone.

Maybe they push it live in a 14.6 beta to stress test the formats / gather extended telemetry data before it hits live in June. Could also see them throwing in free Apple Music trial month(s) when it officially launches to celebrate the new format and get people hooked into the ecosystem.

But then again, they also never trialed stuff like TV+ so maybe they have a global go-live in June and that‘s it.

what is "extra lossless?"

Just poking fun at Apple's branding and choice of words.

To my mind, lossless is just that - lossless. But Apple went ahead and gave me hi-res lossless.

I'd like to think that when we are talking of lossless audio, we are talking of audio with no loss, and I'd think that is supposed to be the highest quality audio. There cannot be a better quality or resolution audio than lossless if you really have it. What is hi-res lossless?!

You cannot call a quality as lossless if you can give me a better quality than that, can you! The highest quality that can be provided may be called lossless with everything else below that level cannot ideally be called lossless.

That's what made me poke fun here. I could be wrong. ?
