I'm thinking announcement next week and then they ship the following week. That allows for another 1 or 2 betas plus a GM for both iOS 14 and watchOS 7, with those being released the week beginning the 14th. I would imagine there will be a day one update for watchOS to 7.0.1 or something along those lines as they'll have an older build on them when they ship.I'm not on twitter, but I guess the only way Apple would do the watches & iPads via a press release would be if there's no real changes other than battery life, surely? If all the rumours about the new iPad Air being more like the Pros in design, then I am not totally convinced those would be via press release.
If what Jon is saying is right, then that means Apple would release 13.7 this week and 14 next week, which just doesn't make sense...... Unless he means they get announced the week of the 7th? He's not specific about whether he means they are announced or released, unlike with the phones.
This means iOS 13.7 would have a couple of weeks in the wild before iOS 14, and as it is a big feature relating to Exposure Notifications, Apple probably want it out sooner rather than later to help in the contact tracing effort.
