Yep it always happens, as I questioned it a month or so ago, and was proven wrong. There's been times where articles came out and were pulled, but not the other way round.

Nothing on Dev centre, and nothing on twitter, which there usually is by now.

I suspect nothing this week for iOS 14. So maybe something next week. Either something was very wrong with iOS 14 B7 and it was pulled, or they're happy with B6, meaning it will become the GM. Either of those explains WatchOS B7 coming out separate.

I agree with the watchOS B7 coming out separate as a possible sign that iOS 14 B7 may have been pulled or delayed. Beta 6 will not become the GM. I think that the GM will not be til end of September. But what is even more weird is fact that macOS Big Sur hasn't seen a beta update in a while. It's been 2 weeks now.

There have been iOS releases that went to GM after a handful of Betas, not many I know. (iOS 9 after Beta 5, iOS 8 after Beta 5, iOS 7 after Beta 6, after Beta 5, iOS.6 after Beta 4)

I'm not saying that this is the case, just saying it's a possibility (Albeit a small one).

As for Big Sur, that hasn't gone to weekly yet, so 2 weeks isn't unusual. I am guessing that might turn up today, but MacOS is later in the day for release.

So, I assume last week's iOS beta 6 that came out a week earlier was just an exception. I guess, we're back on two-week schedule, which means beta 7 out Sep 8.

As far as macOS beta goes, I hope it's out later today. Preview's adjust-quality-on-export tool is broken, AirDrop's iOS-to-macOS transfer is broken, weather widget is broken, etc, etc, etc.

Or this week is an exception (assuming something doesn't actually come out this week).

Also Monday the 7th is a holiday in the states..A few leakers have claimed that there is something dropping on the 8th ?? Will those devices need iOS 14 to run them ?? So many twist and turns.. I could not imagine beta 6 being the GM .. but like many of you have said its 2020 so anything is possible !!

There's still a possibility of something a little after the usual release time (some releases have come 5, 10, even 20 minutes after). There's also the 1 PM Pacific release timeframe as well.

(There's always tomorrow too.)
Yea this is my ? is what was the latest a beta ever dropped. I definitely remember the up to about 1030 pacific ones but not those later ones.

They don’t have to release 14 publicly, can jump straight to 14.1. However, I think 14.1 will be released with the new iPhones in October/November and 14 in September.
I'm not touching a .1 again after last year. Was a major pain to transfer to my 11PM because the versions were off

Didn't Mark Gurman say the other day iOS 14 will be released in September. so I don't think we are looking at October.

Latest for iOS beta's have seen between 1-1:40PM pacific.... As for macOS one's I think they've been released as late as 3PM Pacific.

Typically speaking there are the 10 AM and 1 PM Pacific release timeframes. A typical release would usually come out right around one of those timeframes, although could be within a time period of plus or minus roughly half an hour or so.

What if both Big Sur and iOS had a critical bug that needs more time fixing before the next update? It could also be we’re getting no updates until the GM, but it would be weird if WatchOS got an extra beta and iOS didn’t.

watchOS was the only beta updated.. no iOS, tvOS or macOS 🤔 maybe everything else is ready but watchOS needed another update.

I think if Apple Watch Series 6 is coming in the next couple of weeks, beta 7 is the one they will use for the initial run of devices. Release early this week, flash to devices at the end of the week, announcement next week and then have them on shelves the week after.

This doesn’t explain why there hasn’t been an iOS/iPadOS update this week as there’s a rumoured iPad coming next week too. Maybe they are further along or Apple has a 14.0.1 update ready for them.

It’s all fun and games to speculate but let’s try and relax and keep friendly, a lot of apple news and leaks have been wrong and contradict each other so it’s hard to call anything, with the watch, mac and iPhone all on different versions I guess we just have to wait and see :)
That’s all fine and I agree, but the issue I have is when people post something as a fact. If you’re just guessing, make it clear it’s just that, a guess.

I kind of hope WatchOS isn’t done, i installed the latest beta and I’m not impressed with the battery life at all.... I have only about 8 hours off the charger and I am almost 50% battery left. This is with lite usage as well.
