Well, from the B7 bugs thread, there's not as many/not as drastic bugs as we saw in the GMs of iOS 12 or 13, so this build could be it, a 'b' build has been the one to go to GM before a few times..... I think there's probably 1 more build to come, and it will be an 'a' build, which will be the one for GM.

My guess is only about the beta.

As for event/release, there's 2 leakers with good track records, and contradictory info. Well the one saying about next week is only saying there is something going online on Tuesday morning.

I would guess that it would only be devices that are getting minor bumps in battery and no real new features, as Apple loves to show off devices that have new features in an event.

Most likely outcome iPad Air gets released next week, since the other leaker lovetodream said there’ll be no apple watch this month, he has a decent track record.

Welp. My guess is that this is the last beta before GM

This beta was released on a Thursday with the following Monday being a holiday... There will be an 8th beta next week on Wednesday or Thursday, and then possibly a GM release in Week 38 with an official release in week 39. There's still a few bugs in iOS and plenty of bugs in iPadOS that need to be sorted out, and that's not happening all fast before a holiday weekend. And if this year has taught us anything, it's to expect the unexpected (There's a Kentucky Fried Movie quote in there somewhere). I do remember reading somewhere that Apple had a way to flash or somehow update iOS OTA either in store or in bulk like on a pallet or something. Of course searching for that online is like searching for a needle in a stack of needles.

i would agree except folks keep reminding us that Apple is a few weeks ahead of us with internal releases.
My guess is watch and ipad get announced next week, with order the end of the following week. Delivery the following week. Then they have plenty of time to complete IOS 14 before delivery. And some revenue is captured in this quarter so it’s not a complete bust. Plus or minus a week.

Just because a new Apple Watch and/or iPad would/could be announced, doesn't mean they'll be in everyone's hands that day. Could be released on a Friday two weeks after being announced, and they could have 14.0.1 ready to go if needed. Apple's ALWAYS on versions of the OS way ahead of whatever beta's current. That means delivery of new iDevices on Friday Sept 25th and a GM release maybe the week before.

Any new form factor type devices will not just get some quiet release on their store.. Apple Watch, iPad, and iPhone will all be announced at the same event- however that may be. Probably another online thing like they did for WWDC2020. There's no way Apple's not taking the time to hype up their yearly upgrade devices.

Here's your early reminder to remove the Beta Profile after they release the GM and BEFORE you might mistakingly update to iOS 14.1 beta 1 :) Hopefully we won't have to deal with what we did when iOS 13 launched and had the new devices in our hands and a backup from a beta version lol

well from the little we know the watch is not a major upgrade so a press release fits with that. I guess it comes down to how much revenue Apple feels they need in Sept with loss of iPhone revenue for that month.

I think it was Jon who said next week will be an interesting week. No matter what it will be interesting.

People saying there's still many bugs, or there's still a lot of work to do.... people were saying the same last year and the year before with the last build that then became the GM..... 😉 So, you never know. I'm not saying it is, or that I'm confident it is, but I know it's possible, as we've had a 'b' build be the GM release before..... Just playing Devils Advocate.

I think people need to step back and look at it comparatively. Pretty much every beta of iOS 14 has been an improvement to iOS 13. There never has been, nor will there ever be, a bug-free release. Especially when we're talking about a X.0 build. I'm happy with my phone on beta 7 and would be just as happy with a new device that came with it.

IMO the current state of iOS 14 is waaaay better than iOS 13.6.1, at least from my experiences anyway. And simply removing any logging for beta issues will increase battery life across all iDevices. The remaining bugs in place right now are pretty minimal compared to when iOS 13 just introduced more and more bugs at every beta release, including the GM.
