Anyone speculation on AirPods Pro firmware update timing?

Considering that AirPods firmware updates are quite random (no user interaction required), I would guess Apple might push it through before iOS 14 is out to the general public, else they risk people complaining that spacial audio does not work for them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just had an email from my bank (Smile, in the UK) stating that I need to update their banking app "over the next few days" to keep compatibility with iOS 14. The wording suggests widespread release, rather than beta testing.

That’s a very interesting argument there. Thanks for sharing...

I think OS releases and GM tomorrow. They are launching Watches and iPads, so they'll need the new OS for that. But we'll see, everything is different this year.
Wonder how long between tomorrow’s announcements and availability of hardware. That will drive software release dates I think.

Announced tomorrow, released next Friday (25th), software released w/c 21st September. That's usually how Apple releases go.
it Will be interesting to see if they follow tradition. Some are speculating that watch will be available to order tomorrow, deliver Friday

Sorry if this has been said already, don't see it. Release of xOS 14 will be driven by availability of Watch s6 and new iPads, and that's probably sometime between Friday and the end of the month. If b8 + some official features = GM, then release will be between Tomorrow and next week. Also, expect 14.0.1 & 7.0.1 within days of Watch/iPad release. iPhone 12x features will probably come in 14.1 in November. 😥

AirPod firmware update, wonder if this is to enable spatial audio in iOS 14? If so that adds more evidence that iOS 14 is dropping soon.

It should have Spatial Audio, I mean, no way they would push another firmware update so shortly after updating this one, but let's see....if I my airpods even decide to update which I don't have a clue on how to force them.

There are whole threads on how to force them to update. The upshot is...you don't. Best to do is to make sure they're connected to the phone and on a charge. Then it will happen. Eventually.

I think we are approaching 100% certainty on iOS 14 GM tomorrow.
