I have went back to b3 and so far my phone is staying cool to the touch. I think maybe there was some type of corruption in the install last night. I was in bad work at work and it auto upgraded. Thank you for the help, I’ll report back in a few hours. And update on how the instal is doing. Thank you for the help.

Awesome, there you go. Glad it’s all good and I could help. The power of IPSW hey!!!

OTA sucks (for iOS 15). As we have just proven!

LAST TIME…

I think, we’ll proved for my 12, a restore selecting the IPSW your on, fixed my iPhone storage glitch. I don’t think it’s a bug, just some glitch from a poor OTA update earlier on before the ios 15 RC. How I differentiate between “glitch” and “bug” in my own head, is a glitch is a bad update something we can fix locally. A bug is something we can’t fix, something in the code and needs an apple beta/update. Restoring from your selected IPSW holding alt down first so you can select it, fixed the storage glitch on my 12 and using IPSW in general since the RC I’ve dramatically seen less bugs mentioned from this forum - like App Store.

I have a feeling a software update won’t fix it as it’s probably not on Apples radar when they know a restore fixes the issue. You’ll need to reinstall the iOS and do a full restore - even when I used finder + IPSW to install official iOS 15, iPhone storage was still screwed.

Download the IPSW your on and hold alt when you click on the restore button… select your IPSW. Obvs full back up first to your machine.

The restore must recalibrate the phone storage calculations.

👍🏼

Gold stuff, you are a champion !!!

Be aware on this build if you use your iPhone as a phone.

Telephony

Known Issues

  • Users might experience loss of audio during calls, followed by the call being dropped in some conditions. (83381816)
Workaround: Toggle Airplane Mode on and off, or reboot.

not noticed this yet, but been using WiFi calling when at home with no issues.

but understand it might be more cellular focused. But there’s the fix if you have been seeing this bug. Well, at least when your on WiFi.

I wake up this morning to an uncharacteristic 35 new posts in this thread.

Then I see that @Pearsey posted 25 of them. 😆

(good job on the IPSW instructions, Pears!)

Thanks buddy. Im a sharer 😆😂.
Im hoping though, its all sunk in now, and it helps and people give things ago instead of thinking the next, the next, the next beta will fix it.

Does anyone know if the issue of low battery after reboot and shutdown on the iPhone 13 pro has been solved?

Youtube App...force close and reopen fresh. Now search for a video. Try tapping the first result without scrolling the results list first. Video wont open.

This also happens on my wife's phone.

I don’t use the YouTube app. Only access through Safari - ad blocker used to be able to eliminate all ads even those within the video. They haven’t been able to do that for a while but I’m hopeful they will in the future. Anyway I’ve had no “touch” issues that I’m aware of with iOS 15 or any update since. So far, fingers crossed.

I'm also experiencing the heat/battery loss issue on the public beta for 15.1b3. I've only ever done the OTA install. Where can I go to download the IPSW?

Aghhh no don’t do it.. I’m telling you that was an issue for me with OTA and ever since I started doing IPSW I haven’t seen what others are experiencing ..no storage bug issue, no Wi-Fi issue , no touch issue on this beta.. my personal opinion and belief is I will only do IPSW going forward .. Never will do OTA again if I don’t have to..
Never done IPSW and have had none of those issues. Other beta and general release bugs but not any of those fortunately. It’s OTA exclusively for me on all devices. But each has to do whatever they’re comfortable with. I imagine some are still waiting for that cd or dvd in the mail to do an update.;)

The touch screen will be unresponsive at random times. I’ve encountered it mostly in YouTube app but also in safari trying the tap a link etc.
Ah, ok thanks. If I’ve run into that I haven’t noticed and I don’t use the YouTube app, just Safari.

I had filed feedback on the erratic storage reporting issue in settings app as well as iTunes.
The status shows fix identified for a future OS update. this is as on date.
this implies the fix is not expected in 15.1.
any ideas ?

Is beta 3 good enough for a daily driver? 15 is not bad but I do find it slightly flakey at times. Thanks.
I have found with the last few iOS versions - 11, 12, 13, 14 - that it’s not until XX.3 that it becomes what I consider to be a stable release. Taking on the betas before that is an invitation for significant bugs. Each has to decide how much they can tolerate. I only do so on spare devices until at least the .1 version. At that point they’ve become annoyances rather than usability killers.

I just rebooted mine as I was having an issue with all of my sounds being extremely low even with volume all the way up. Fixed that issue; I'll keep an eye on the battery throughout the day.

To each his own. I've been runnning betas for a lot of years and can't recall any bugs that significantly affected usability of my devices. Matter of fact, a lot of the bugs that stand out in my mind were on final public releases. A lot of times, betas fix a lot of those bugs that make it to the public so it really comes down to doing your research before jumping in.

😆 same here till iOS 15 b8 OTA was a host of issues. Went IPSW from the RC and it’s been beautiful on my iPhone 12 since.

CD 🤣 remember when apple used to charge for MacOS, on DVD. I think Snow Leopard was the last paid for OS.

check out mine and Eddies post from #153.

he’s back on B3 now, installed via finder and downloaded B3 IPSW, and all is good so far.

I had to go back to b2. I put my device on charge. Woke up and the device was so hot I couldn’t touch it. I’ll have to wait for the next release to see what happens. I don’t want to destroy my battery.

Ahh yes, MacOS Snep. I've always loved the photo they used on that box. :)

Have you only rebooted it once? With what %? If you could try a few more times and post the result, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Yes, one reboot and I'm currently at 92% having been off the charger since about 0700. I have no reason to do further reboots so not going to go looking for trouble.

Before the beta version, did your battery% decrease after restarting and shutting down?
