Took a 30 second prores video. Constant stutter. More garbage from Apple.
No kidding. They upgrade and while the phone is still "settling in" start using high end, memory intensive features, which may not be running optimally while the phone is still "settling in". That's why I have an Ignore button ... and use it.Some folks' posts are 90% negative. They should probably switch from Apple.
Is there any known fixes for the “zero kb” storage issue?
Yep. Constructive criticism is perfectly fine — we all want Apple to do better (and sometimes they even listen!). But if the experience of using Apple hardware and software is really as miserable as some of these folks lead us to believe based on their posts here, they probably really are better off just cutting their losses and jumping over to Android and Windows. Still no update in finderUpdate does not show up in Finder yet.
I’m probably exaggerating. Nonetheless it takes way too long during that portion of the update. The actual install doesn’t bother me.
What is it doing during the “preparing update” stage that takes twice as long as the actual installation?

Is this true? I feel like maybe it's better for itunes to install the entire firmware from the ground up instead of in patches like OTA, no?
I'm not saying that OTA updates aren't doing something different with regards to how they clean up after an install or anything, but all you're doing with a local IPSW update is using a full copy of the OS as the source to update the same OS components that the OTA delta imageYes your right.
IPSW is a cleaner way to install any iOS. It wipes the operating system and installs a fresh copy. OTA just replaces files and it’s not that great at cleaning up after itself.
I am not even in a state that was mentioned in the feature(Indiana) so I was glad to see the option in my provider's App. Apple added instructions for adding to Wallet on their site: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212752It all depends on where you got the Covid Vac. Not all states or providers in those states use the same reporting program. There is not a uniform program and only 1 works with the iPhone/Health App. Only about 4-5 states in the US if I remember correctly.
Same here, Illinois. It was available through the state and my provider (both via MyChart).I am not even in a state that was mentioned in the feature(Indiana) so I was glad to see the option in my provider's App. Apple added instructions for adding to Wallet on their site: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212752
Each of us have our preferred way and I know that’s yours. But time wise it’s similar for me OTA. About 2 minutes to download, preparing and verifying under 10 and final installation about 5, maybe close to 10 on a big one. I haven’t done it any other way since OTA became a thing.I really notice that on OTA updates, but IPSW literally download the file in 20mins, 10-15mins to instal, doesn’t hang on anything. Preparing iPhone takes a couple of mins, I think, haven’t really paid much attention because it’s so quick.
Using a MBP.
