Unless you are like our friend and proud Dad, Mr. Pear, and turn off everything on your phone and disconnect from all radios overnight, a 1% drop per hour is not to be unexpected. That implies nearly 4 days of standby time. Now if you’re losing 4-5% per hour, then there might be an issue. But its only been 18 hours since it was released, so, at least for last night, the issue might be re-indexing and the other processes that go on after an update.

See how it does tonight before reaching the conclusion that there might be a problem.
I was just sharing my battery info. Wasn’t complaining.

By the looks of it I will skip the betas of 15.3. I am seeing a lot of complaints and pretty big issues that I dont want to deal with.
Haven’t had any noticeable issues on my 13 Pro Max or iPP. I did have a couple glitches I noticed when on 15.2 but none (so far) on 15.3. Certainly no scrolling issues. Just checked a couple PDFs on both devices, all butter smooth.

Actually leaving off AP mode may be the issue. If mail it attempting to sync or update or whatever and there is no connectivity it could keep trying for like 9 hrs and 32 minutes. (Interesting the same amount of time you are showing here :D ) I would try and leave some connectivity (wifi or cellular) on and see if it clears it up for you.

Yeah that does make sense, I’ve just never noticed it doing this before. Tonight I’ll try just leaving it on do not disturb but no Airplane Mode and see what happens.

I’m still seeing high Siri battery usage running in the background.
Thanks for reporting. I see the same issue starting in 15.2 and continues in 15.2.1. I was hoping this was fixed in 15.3. b2 but seems not.
For me, it doesn't seem like it's actually using any additional battery and just a reporting bug. I'm still getting great battery life on my 13 mini.

Am I the only one having problems with the home bar since iOS 15? Using the home bar to swipe to the previous app is really hit and miss. I usually end up swiping up to the app cards and choosing from there. Didn't have this issue on iOS 14.

Private relay gone on for the first time. And IP tracking via Wi-Fi settings, safari.

So far, so good. No websites not loading properly. ??

I had a profile setup to do DOH with cloudflare. I assume that turning on private relay trumps that (it appeared so), but I removed that profile just in case. Will be testing private relay out.

EDIT: It does at least indicate that DNS is encrypted (using the cloudflare tester).

If there are any Apple engineers checking this thread, does this beta fix FB9713048 (AVAudioEngine and AVMIDIPlayer crash Quick Look Preview Extension)?

This issue has been around since at least iOS 15.0.2. I got a response from Apple, and replied to the response, but haven't heard from them since then.

Now Mail is going crazy overnight for some reason instead of Messages and it doesn’t make any sense because everything is on fetch and background app refresh is off. Just turned off notifications to see if that was anything to do with it. Thing is, I leave my iPhone on Airplane Mode every night so how can that be it? ?View attachment 1943469
I had this occur a couple times with beta 1 for a couple random apps. A reboot killed the run away processes and my iPhone was good for a couple days till another app did it. Haven’t seen it on beta 2 yet.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something like that. After tonight’s test, I’ll give a reboot a shot if it’s still doing it.

Delete the app. Reinstall. Add your accounts back in. See if that clears anything up.

Or reinstall the iOS. Both you can do in under 10 mins.

All good on my 12.

I am having Siri and Find My running randomly across the night which drops my battery life by 10+ %.

I used to have the issue on the initial iOS 15 betas and now it is back. I'll try a complete wipe and IPSW install now.

Worst case, can I install the latest public release over the beta or use a backup from the beta for the latest release? It has been a while since I have done that.

Mine is working fine with no issues on my 13PM.

But somewhere out there Dan9700 is having problems with the home bar. Just not these problems!

A. There probably are Apple employees checking this thread.

B. They will never tell you they are though.

I was really hesitant to install the B2 after reading the initial posts here. I was soooo happy about the B1 batterylife. But… this is even better! No bugs for me before and none now.

Why can’t Apple settle with the batteryconsuption from the early betas to the final release? They always have to muck it up at the end ?

Are you using an iPhone 12?

I’m going to try this today if I have any downtime at work. Or do it after work. Still had a bit of overnight usage last night so it apparently doesn’t matter if I have Airplane mode on or not. It’s actually happening all day long, I noticed. Might try switching fetch back to manual again, like I used to have it.
