Then why are all the rest of those switches for backup?
They're not. It's a list of apps that use iCloud for synchronisation.

If you turn them off, then those apps (e.g. Reminders) don't sync across to your other devices but just stay on your phone. And are still backed up when you do an iCloud backup. In fact, turning an app on actually removes it from your iCloud backup as it's not necessary; it'll simply sync back from it's dedicated iCloud storage.

Can you add music to your Apple Music playlist? Can you go into settings and then music and access those settings? I would bet you can’t.
Honestly, I can do both of those things.

I definitely know how you feel though. I've been dealing with raised blacks and green tint for the last year. And dropped calls before that after getting the 12 Pro. I get it. I know my phone has bugs as Apple has an issue with squashing even the tiniest ones. But this RC hasn't shown them for whatever reason. The same bugs I've had with previous betas.

I hate to say it, because I know so many of you are having issues but this RC has been rock solid for me. I think I only the have storage space bug. Thats not to say bugs won't service but its been okay. I always do a phone restart before I install new software, and one restart after. I'd say this might make a difference except many of you are doing clean installs and still have issues. Hopefully fixes come soon.

I did a restart before and after installing and have both the playlist and the settings issues.

That’s good to know. I hope this all gets ironed out soon. Just really frustrating. I doubt Apple even knows any of this and is just going to release this dumpster fire tomorrow.

Thanks …
Color me confused because they don’t.
Same iCloud on my iPhone and iPad and MB.
They don’t share Calendar
They don’t share Messages
They don’t share Stocks
They don’t share Fitness
They don’t share Wallet
They don’t share Notes - I can view Notes by selecting the iCloud version instead of on device…
etc…

Not saying you are incorrect, I’m just saying on my system, they don’t.

Looking to see if I could find a doc that explains this in detail.

I find it oddly amusing that I am using an iPad Pro with 16GB of memory and the memory management of iOS15 is so bad that it can’t keep one slide over window open for more than a few minutes before removing it before I have to drag it back up again. Truly pathetic.

Thanks for the heads up…..more reason not to “upgrade” tomorrow. I remember ipad os13 had terrible memory leaks for months after release. Fun fun !

Yeah 3 months for nothing, they have ruined my Apple Music library; nothing works and doesn’t add, if the public get this verison tomorrow the internet will blow up
This happens every year now. Apple launches a public beta program a few years ago and the releases have been a mess. I say we pay apple to do the damn development. Let them do their job. Instead they get a ton of free beta testers and still can’t fix stuff. It’s getting pathetic.

I am truly shocked they are releasing iOS 15 tomorrow. Its not even close to being as polished as it should be for a public release.

I have to admit this RC is probably the worst I’ve used. My 12 Pro Max has now had 2 hard locks which has required force rebooting the phone. I don’t think I’ve seen a full hard lock on an iPhone in years, now I’ve seen 2 in less than a week.

All those things (well, apart from Wallet I think) sync across between my two phones and my laptop. My iCloud Calendar is always in sync between devices; if I add a new share to my watchlist on my Mac it'll show on my phone. iMessage definitely syncs across.

I don't know what you mean about Notes. By selecting the iCloud ones (which is what that setting does) you're saying they do share?

The tipping point came for me this morning when for reasons unknown my alarm didn’t make any sound when it went off. The entire phone was just completely silent and I had to reboot it to get sound back. I’m rolling back to 14.8 right now and won’t go to 15 until this mess is cleaned up or Apple somehow releases something different than the garbage they have as the RC.

Hi there

I installed the RC two days ago and it works very smoothly.

Today I opened the Photos app and the message appeared that there are no photos. Under "Albums" and in the other tabs, all the photos are there.

Does anyone have a similar problem? Unfortunately I haven't found anything about it.

Have you restarted the phone? I believe that also happened on my iPad and a restart fixed it.

all my apple music on my Mac doesn't sync onto the iPhone, stay away from iOS 15 until 15.1 at least

I’ve used 15 since beta 2, not had any issues with alarms, which is weird.

Just checked mine, and mine sync. Tho it’s seemingly I but slower, taking a couple minutes, but was sure it was almost instant before.

you using the Monterey beta?

Yeah I don’t know why it happened. Either way I’m done with iOS15 for a while. The tiny amount of features it adds don’t amount to making the OS in any way better and it is a complete mess right now.

I’ve had a smooth experience. I’m liking safari with it all down the bottom. Using live text a ton day to day. Focus is also heavily used for me, with the work focus set up, so I only get work related notifications and a work only Home Screen. FaceTime with anyone not on iOS has been working good, loving grid view.

that’s just some of what I’m liking so far. It’s a shame UC & SharePlay weren’t ready for prime time, but it’s not the first time a feature got delayed to a point release, so we won’t have long to wait. I’m betting UC will come with 15.1, which will come alongside Monterey, if I had to guess.

I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience, sounds like you’ve had some beta dregs creating issues. I know that out devices what were on 14.8 that updated OTA to RC have no issues, so likely the public won’t have the bumpy ride you have, but will see.

I went from 14.8 directly to the release candidate so there are going to be millions of other users who encounter these same bugs.

And safari at the bottom And focus are hardly features worth getting me excited for. Glad you like them but for me I hate the address bar at the bottom and turn it off and focus is just a glorified do not disturb, which we have had for some time now.

After I opened the latest photo in the camera app on the bottom left and then selected "all photos", everything works again. Strange.
