I'm usually a public beta person (let my developer account expire when they first started doing public betas).

I have to say, I have had ZERO issues with DB1 on my daily driver so far. Every app I have used works as expected and no battery issues, no restarts...nothing.

I went back to the developer beta just so I could try out the new Maps...boy, I'm glad I did...they're incredible.

Based on this alone, I'm speculating DB2 on Tuesday 6/22 and PB1 on Wednesday 6/23.

Doubtful, but believe what you need to believe to get through the day. In the keynote (June 7) Tim Cook said specifically "each of them [OSes] will have a public beta next month"...

Just because he said July, doesn’t mean anything, they have released public betas earlier than the dates they’ve given before.

Hello,

i was curious about ios 15 and i decide to install it and its working almost smooth.

My question, it will be some fix to download without bugs, or i need to wait untill final version will be available?

i mean, for example in 2 weeks it will be update and better version released?

The only way to not get bugs is to not use it. Bugs will be. And no, there’s no guarantee that next release will be better.

I think I got my hopes up and my brain ignored what I was told…and only because I haven’t had a single issue using DB1 on my daily driver.

That has NEVER happened before even being on public beta for the last 5 years or so.

Same. I know I'm likely setting myself up for disappointment but this gives me hope that this will be the year that Apple will finally put in the work necessary to bring iOS back up to "just works" status and start incorporating some semblance of consistency throughout the OS.

Hello everyone!

Just like Alice, i was curiouser and curiouser about iOS 15 and that’s why i made a mistake and installed it to my iPhone.

Oddly enough, Alice was curious about the Wonderland and not a software update! She was clever…

Now i have a developer profile installed on my iPhone and i am very impatient about Beta 2, because i am really hoping something (or everything) will be better in the next beta.

What you guys think? Will it be available to download before July?

Peace. ✌🏻

Generally speaking the betas are every two weeks, but this isn’t a hard or fast rule, sometimes it’s only a week and sometimes it’s more than two, my guess is that since we didn’t get it today that beta 2 will be out before next Friday.

To anyone reading along, let this be a cautious tale about developer betas. Public customer betas is one thing, and even then be wary, but private AppleSeed/developer betas - I recommend only on entertainment-only/non-important or secondary development testing targets.

Anyway, Tuesday most likely

Happy Father’s Day!

Do you know where is the girl who was living in Las Vegas and always disliking your comments?

I can’t see her anymore in MacRumors.
No idea lol! I have a lot of haters and many fake profiles that are always hating lol can’t keep a track on them.

I’m expecting beta 2 to be released next week because we’ve went three weeks between beta 1 and beta 2 before, and I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment lol
I’m expecting beta 2 this week, then that means we’re another step closer to PB 1, LETS GOOOOOO!!! 😎🕺

I think we‘ll have a 3 week gap until beta 2 (and then a week later PB1). So nothing this week.

I‘ll happily be proven wrong though.

Some people keep saying this….don’t know why. As long as you have a backup, you can easily get back to your previous version in under an hour.
Been testing developer Betas since iPhone OS 3, and some have been crappy that wanted me to get off….never had an issue getting back. And now this is doubly true since data is for the most part stored in the cloud (for example my photos are in both OneDrive and iCloud, email in Office 365, files in OneDrive, etc)

Except, how many people keep asking here how they can revert back to iOS 14? That’s proof right there, to me at least, that they are neither developers nor people that should be using any form of beta software. They clearly are not prepared for the issues that are almost guaranteed to follow whilst running such an early release of any software.

Point taken….I think it’s fairly easy, but you’re right maybe that’s right I’ve been doing this for a while. (Even before iOS betas I’ve been using Microsoft and other betas since the 90s). As long as I have my information backed up that I have not problem reaching for in case I need to revert, I have no problem putting betas in my main drivers.

On Betas like WatchOS tough, I’m much more careful, as there’s no way to get back to your previous version so that on indeed I hold until public beta, if at all.

Agree with both of these statements. It is easy to get back PROVIDED you set yourself up to do so with an encrypted, archived backup.

If you don’t spend the time to learn how to be able to restore to a “stable” release, you pretty much deserve whatever happens to your data.

But, as @JCCL mentions, the risk to most operational data is pretty slight now, with most of it residing in the cloud. The biggest risk is to your health and fitness data, which can only be archived via an encrypted backup (and even then you would lose whatever data was generated since the backup was created).

The biggest barrier to uneducated participants using the developer beta is the cost of the developer program (US $99). I think that is why the MR team is relentless in removing posts advertising where you can get the developer profile for free. They don’t want to be accused of facilitating someone losing their data or, worse, having a phone incapable of, e.g., making emergency calls because an early beta messed up the phone app. During the iOS 13 early betas, my GPS was completely messed up. Maps had me driving across farm fields and lakes. Had this become an issue for me (i.e., if I really needed maps to go somewhere I was not familiar with), I would have had to revert. Imagine that situation if you had to navigate to a hospital in an unfamiliar place. (I had the vehicle nav as my backup)
