I noticed they have removed the mute function for the back tapping. The option no longer exists to mute/unmute device by double tapping the back. This defeats the purpose for me. I would have expected to use the action button for something like camera and double tap the back to mute/unmute device. So if I want to mute the device I have to set the action button to silent mode.
The funny thing is they only disabled it on the 15 Pro, other devices can still use back tap to mute.

Exactly, why is Apple limiting its capability? Or is that reserved for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Maxes :)

If I had to guess Apple did this on purpose so that people would explore the other possibilities also, which they might not if it was just a simple button push to mute (no one would long press it). Once people are aware of its addtional capabilities, Apple will magically discover a way to make it do things with a single press, long press and double press. They’ll call it the Magic Action Button.

When you favorite a song now, it adds it to your Music library, any way to disable that?

There is no "mute" switch on an iPhone. Apple has never called it that. It's the Ring/Silent switch. Not everything is muted with it.

Didn’t realize you can also set double or triple tab to a shortcuts

Basically the analog to the pre-series 9 Apple Watches having the one handed gestures in accessibility. These things were always possible but probably not optimal until the new processors debuted. But good enough to help assistively.

Performance is a little better on 17.1, my 14PM feels just that bit snappier, with a bigger gap from the 11PM I upgraded from. Shame the new ringtones disappeared!!

I think they will be back in the next betas. iOS 17.1 seems to have branched off from iOS 17 before they were added.
Seems to be the understanding from a few people on here.

Here are all the Ringtones in 17.0.2.

FYI, the IPSW is a compressed file and I use BetterZip to uncompress it. Once uncompressed there's a bunch of DMG's but the largest size one is the one that contains all the system files. Mount this DMG and the Ringtones are located in: /Library/Ringtones

Thanks a ton !

Anyone having Mail sync issues when using the Mail app and ActiveSync accounts on 17.1 DB1 when connected to Wi-Fi? My iPhone 14 Pro running 16.7 connected to the same Wi-Fi network does not have this issue using the Mail app and the same ActiveSync accounts.

Disconnecting from Wi-Fi and my mail loads instantly.

I have been browsing the ipsw directory trying to locate the text/alert tones but no luck so far. I thought they would be in the Ringtones folder but it does not appear to be the case. I found the folder with some UI sounds but nothing there either. Got any idea maybe where these are located?
