Also has anyone been getting more frequent Find My item left behind notification whilst the item is still on their person? I feel like they’ve been rife since updating to 17.1.

Are you referring to the download time remaining timer (EDIT: and, yes, reading your post a bit less quickly, I see that's what you are asking about)? That's been around for a bit (perhaps when iOS 17 was released publicly but possibly before then, too)

After restarting my router everything is fine again. This "... have you tried to turn it off and on again..." will never be old-fashioned...

My alarm didn't go off this morning, and WiFi 6E connectivity using the XB8 router from Xfinity still shows it's connected, but data just stops when you walk away from the router.

That’s a joke right? In about 21 hours your phone went from an 80% charge to about a 40% charge. So about 2% per hour. And that’s with several hours of device use (vs standby).

Not bad but not great.
Standby use looks good.
SOT looks middlin’.

If this is your normal use case you should have no issue in a day.
Love to see what a heavier day for you looks like.

I think I must have read those stats wrong for the last X years and I still dont understand. I thought 3 hours of screen on time, means I was only able to use it for 3 hours before dropping to 38 %. I thought the 15 Plus can last 12 screen on hours on one charge?

Has anyone had issues with charging via Qi chargers? I upgraded my 15 Pro to 17.1RC and now I can not charge on Qi chargers. It will act like it is about to start charging (battery icon turns green) and then a few seconds later, the icon is back to white and it is not charging. MagSafe chargers work fine.

I’m using a OnePlus 50W Qi charging stand to charge my 15PM.
I have not seen any real issue. I have noticed it appears to charge slower than my previous 13PM did.

Well, you started not at 100%, and the 12 hours are very theoretical and depend on what you do. You went from 80% to 38% with 3 hours SOT and 1:13 hours of screen inactive. Depending on what the iPhone was doing while the screen was inactive, it uses almost the same amount as when it's active. All in all, a good value of about 10%/hour.

Why can't they add haptics to long pressing the + button in Messages? It should give a little haptic vibration to let you know you've held it long enough for the photos to pop open. Instead you can hold it for seemingly forever and only when you let go you get haptic feedback.

I have some time this week end, and so i have a question: if i install 17.1 via ipsw, will it be the same as the public release ? Will i need to delete some profile or something to get future non beta updates?

I’ve noticed that after moving from 17.0.3 to 17.1 RC my cellular connection strength indicator seems to show less bars than before.

I’m not dropping signal more or anything like that, it just shows a lower reading than before.

I wonder has the modem software been tweaked so that the graphic representation of the number of bars displayed has slightly different logic than before. No biggie anyway…just reads as a bit lower.

To be honest, the final version will be out on Monday or Tuesday. Might be best to just do the update when that drops.

Yes most likely same build. It COULD change if there is some issue uncovered but typically same exact build. And no on the "profile" . There is no profile anymore. There is a switch in software update >beta tab that you select which channel you want on (ie Off, public beta, dev beta) Just switch it back to off for general releases.

How’s battery life on 15 Pro with 17.1? I just got mine and battery life is absolutely terrible on 17.0.3 (yes, I know about indexing, it’s been 4 days and should be done). If it stays like this I’ll probably return the phone and get a 14 Pro or Pro Max

I’d wait till 17.1 releases before you take that drastic of a step. Or install the release candidate now. I’m getting good battery life on my 15 PM.

I’ll obviously wait until the end of the return window (30 days), I’ll try to install the RC or wait until it gets released

In Apple speak “𝘣𝘺 𝘹 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦” usually means that date. Like “early next year” usually means by March 31. So I’m going to stick with Tuesday. But I would not be displeased if it came Monday.
