Is there a fix in 17.1RC for Apple Car Play issues? I can connect and it’s all working except the new interface for messages via Siri. I can’t reply to a message or send a message using Siri in the car. I can use Siri in the house or anywhere else but not the car. Apple Support said they’ve had numerous reports about this but I don’t see a fix for this in the notes. Anyone else have this problem? Or tried car play with 17.1RC installed?
So my issue with this is that volume on the first Siri response was normal and after that it was so muted you could barely hear. Everything else worked fine. I reported it multiple times for each beta and there were never any updates.

Finally with the RC, volume is normal for Siri reading and responding. But I’m not coding a defect yet.

None of my shortcuts are showing in the sharesheet after this update even the option is switched to on!
Can someone check?

Is anyone with BMW able to control CarPlay with idrive wheel?
After updating to 17.1 RC it only works on a home screen but as soon as I open any app it stops working.
It was working perfectly fine before RC.

For example Google Translate. I don’t have any share sheet, they are gone.

I reinstalled Translate, typed in a word I wanted to translate, and then hit the three dots to the right of the translated word. From there, a context menu with “Full Screen” and “Share” appeared. I picked Share and then my share sheet dialog opened and all of my share sheet shortcuts were there.

Glad Siri volume is fixed. I never had that issue. Mine is Siri reads me a message and asks if I want to reply and then I speak the reply and then Siri says something I don’t understand and then “I can’t show you this while you are driving” and then closes the message interface. Same thing happens if I say “hey Siri, text message to Bob”. Siri doesn’t respond at all.

But it sounds like they are working on Apple Car Play issues despite no mention of this in the notes for 17.1RC - let’s hope they fix it, not break it more!

Yea. From what it seemed like, it’s working now. It’s been a v v long time since I could use Messages my truck while I was driving. First was good then I’d have to roll up the windows and turn the volume all the way up just to barely hear.
It happened in a beta before but was fixed with the next. This time it’s been almost all summer long.

Hello everyone

I received my new phone and was thinking to set everything from scratch.
I have some time this week end, and so i have a question: if i install 17.1 via ipsw, will it be the same as the public release ? Will i need to delete some profile or something to get future non beta updates?

Thanks
OK so as I was saying............. There may be another RC before launch but probably just for the 15 series........ and THAT build will most likely be the same as the release next week. 😅😂🤣🤣
