I really like thisWhen you set a photo as wallpaper, it kinda extends the top to ‘elongate’ the picture and fill the screen…not sure how to word it. This is one of my favourite new features.

I just got the Public Beta for iOS17 and WatchOS10 last night, so far seems good but some very basic things seem broken lol.
Alarm Custom Sounds (mp3) are tied to Media volume instead of Alarm & Ringtone volume. In my case Media volume was 0, so when the alarm rang, it was completely silent. The default Alarm sound files working as intended.
3D Touch to drag-n-drop an app shortcut from the App Drawer to the Home Screen doesn't work lol.
The new StandBy feature is really weird and doesn't seem to work at least 80% of the time.
Watch Faces can't be switched by sliding your finger left/right. Now the only way is by going to the Watch app on the Phone and activating a different one.
You could already save full-page screenshots since iOS 14: https://support.apple.com/en-ie/guide/iphone/iphc872c0115/14.0/ios/14.0This is a big “little change”. As of the “no changes” re-release of 17b3 you can now save full web pages as screen shots, a la the Tailor app (which will now probably go out of business 🥲)
I don't think most people consider PDFs to be "screenshots". Thanks for your clarification. You could already save full-page screenshots since iOS 14: https://support.apple.com/en-ie/guide/iphone/iphc872c0115/14.0/ios/14.0
What’s new is that you can now also save them as images instead of only as PDF.
The screen turning off at night is a feature, not a bug. I prefer not having that light in my face while I sleep, thank you! However, the screen lights up (dimly) if it detects any motion or if you tap the nightstand. It really doesn't take much. But if you don't like it, don't use the Sleep / Wake up alarm and just use a regular alarm. But that will cause the screen not to take on the nighttime red-hue.Installed iOS17 public beta yesterday, had high hopes for standbymode but it's just a big disappointment:
The iPhone14 always-on display is still not always-on in standymode and the screen turns itself of pretty fast and needs motion be turn on again. Really annoying if wake up at night and only look at the screen to check time and the screen is blank.
Disappointment nr 2 is that I can't configure/see alarms from within standbymode as far as I can see.
Going back to my old alarmclock-app that I was hoping to get rid of, but not yet obviously... :/
Btw, surprised no one has sued them over the iPhone 14 marketing with "always on display" that is actually an "almost always on display".
A very welcome change, this one FWIWYour last point re the watch faces is a change, not a bug. You can still change watch faces from the watch itself. You have to enter edit mode by long pressing the watch face. Then you can slide right and left. In my mind, this makes more sense than the old method, which was too easy to invoke accidentally.
Nope, it's not detected by night mode. It's detected by the phone being on charge, locked and turned horizontally. Not that I use it this way, but won't standby mode stay on if you simply change/turn off night mode on your phone? Mine stays on all day and will go to red if the room is dark. Mine only shuts off since I use night mode (or so I assume).
I agree! I’ve deleted all but one face because everytime I’d glance at my watch, it’s somehow on a random face.A very welcome change, this one FWIW
I believe the original method still works. Press and hold on the face for a moment and swap.A shame, I liked the old way. I had one Face for work, one for exercise and one for daily use, and I swiftly switched between them as the situation was appropriate. I'll have to figure out a new way now.
Yeah, this works, it's not as swift anymore.I believe the original method still works. Press and hold on the face for a moment and swap.
That's to turn it on. What Moz is saying is that it will stay on unless the Sleep focus (or at least the official sleep alarm) is on. Then it goes black until it senses motion or is tapped.Nope, it's not detected by night mode. It's detected by the phone being on charge, locked and turned horizontally.
Night/light mode doesnt come into it
yes, but it takes you into Edit mode where you do the swapping. No more inadvertent swaps due to casually brushing the watch face.I believe the original method still works. Press and hold on the face for a moment and swap.
The new way takes maybe a second longer. I don't think you're going to find a better way (short of using Focus modes) to change watch faces. Its really not that big a deal.A shame, I liked the old way. I had one Face for work, one for exercise and one for daily use, and I swiftly switched between them as the situation was appropriate. I'll have to figure out a new way now.
Ah, I see. That's to turn it on. What Moz is saying is that it will stay on unless the Sleep focus (or at least the official sleep alarm) is on. Then it goes black until it senses motion or is tapped.
Yep...sorry iof that wasn't clear...typically typing while I'm in a meeting while answering a text and taking a phone call. That's to turn it on. What Moz is saying is that it will stay on unless the Sleep focus (or at least the official sleep alarm) is on. Then it goes black until it senses motion or is tapped.
Yep! Now it will turn off after a minute or so. Super handy!Ah, I see.
So last night, I had the standby mode on but everytime I looked at my phone, it was on so couldnt tell if it had been on all the time or it had detected my movement.
I dont use a sleep focus but have an alarm set - just a standard one through the clock app. Will it be turning off?
EDIT: I have sorted. I have set up and alarm in the Sleep Schedule part of the Health app now so should turn off I assume
Anybody knows if the call log list has increased?
