In Safari is the box to the right of the “40 tabs” supposed to be blank? Its function is the same as the + sign bottom left so seems pointless and unfinished?
These are supposed to be representing different tab groups alongside with the "private browsing" and the "general" tab group.

Thought if you didn’t have a different tab group yet it would look cleaner without. Mines blank and just looks odd? 😁

Just created a tab group to tidy it up a bit. Looks better now, thanks 👍🏻

I agree with you. It would look cleaner without the empty tab, or with something that would suggest user to create a new tab group.

A good candidate for suggestion via the feedback app though 😉

my iPhone 12 Pro Max is getting quite hot on light usage (88% battery health). It is now 10:35 am and my battery is already at 79 % after wasting some time on Instagram Reels in bed this morning.

Big Issue in iOS 17 Beta 7 Developer's Release:

My Mail app no longer only shows VIP mail in the VIP view. VIP now seems to show everything.

That's a huge problem for me, considering how reliant I am on the VIP view of my email.

I confirmed that this is an iOS issue because VIP mail still works on iCloud.com .

Have you reported it? 👍🏼

My iPhone 12 Pro was very hot after first install of beta 7 yesteday. I’ve gotten into the habit of doing several hard reboots after a fresh beta (probably about 5 since yesterday 😁) phone is cool to touch now. Battery isn’t as good as previous iOS release but it’s less than 24 hours after the beta install, so it’s probably still indexing.

App Library

Noticed the Recently Added folder is not.
It is showing apps as Recent that have been installed since I bought it. 3 of the 8 are "newest" and maybe "X" because of the name change. The rest existed back when I had my 11 or earlier.
Perhaps doing an ipsw install for beta 6 somehow mucked it?

Recently added has always (since App Library was introduced) shown ones that have had recent app updates, it’s not just newly bought/downloaded.

Maybe that’s what you’re seeing?

Yea I’m having the same issues where apps are filling up the storage and taking up data very fast. My YouTube went from 340mb to 1gig in a matter of an hour. All apps are behaving this way. I put in another ticket for it and hopefully this is fixed by the time RC releases
Do you have background app refresh turned ON for the apps doing this?

Go into languages and add a second language. It will ask you if you want to make it primary, you don’t have to. Once it is added, then slide to delete that language you added (or keep it if you like). Then try to use the music app and music settings.

My Apple Music, Music Settings, and Apple TV apps were freezing and doing nothing and I found this solution on Reddit. As crazy as it sounds it worked. Like I said earlier in this thread, I wish I would have been smart enough to find and try this before doing a restore, would have saved me a few hours.
Another update on this workaround. Apparently it has to be done after a reboot. I rebooted my phone this morning and the TV and Music apps were broken again. Did the language workaround and they are back functioning. Putting in a FB ticket now.

With PB5 installed, I can no longer attach a file (photo) on these forums.

I can select a photo to upload, yet then the buttons to insert a thumbnail or full image are missing. 🤔 The trash bin icon is still there and that one works.

It’s so interesting how the beta is different for everyone. My battery life has been amazing!

Anyways, I think there’s probably going to be a beta 8 and then an RC after that.
I was just thinking the same thing about how everyone's experience with betas differs!
So far I haven't had any major bugs, and it is running really smooth on my 14 PM (Knock on wood) everything on my end is great besides the battery life.

Same here on iPhone 12 Pro

Don't think so.
Had 20 updates yesterday and only two are in the Recently folder.

What I have:
  • ChatGPT - new (update yesterday)
  • FireFox Focus - old
  • Geekbench 6 - new
  • GMail - old (update yesterday)
  • HP Smart - old
  • iRobot - old
  • Mint Mobile - new
  • X - maybe old, maybe new

Yeah the battery life on this beta is trash not gonna lie.
It's not even 7PM and I'm left with 21% with 3,5h of SOT by doing nothing major - just sending texts on iMessage, using safari, checking mail and that's it. I haven't even used instagram and twitter today.
I have 13 Pro Max and I unplugged it at 6:30am so... yeah

Also I don't know what they're doing with the space that's used on my iPhone but it keeps changing all the time - yesterday I had 221GB used, today in the morning it was 203GB and right now it's 224GB and before upgrading to iOS 17 my used space was around 195GB or so

14PM running 17PB5.

On Day 2 with this beta, battery life was excellent - about 60 to 80 minutes of screen-on time per each 10% of battery drain.

On Day 3, not as good: 3 hours of screen-on time and battery drained by 1/3 (from 100% to 67%).

All first- and third-party apps I've tested are working normally, as expected, at least in the ways I use them.

No problems with performance. So far, so good.

Haven't been able to test CarPlay yet, though.

Weird, mine has always been, and currently is a mix of apps I’ve recently purchased or recently updated in the last week or so, ones that I commonly use.
