I'm guessing the people doing the Betas don't get this updateI'm confused - I'm on the dev beta and can't see the 0.1 update. Is it only for public/public beta?

Correct, if you remain on the beta participation you'll be waiting for 17.1 beta 1 on Monday 9/26 or Tuesday 9/27 (most likely).I'm guessing the people doing the Betas don't get this update
17.0.2 out also! (iPhone 15 models only).
You honestly think they are that lucky. Hey immediate updates for the new iPhone 15 FOMO owners.Maybe Tim sent out the bat signal and our 15’s are updating in flight!✈️ 🦇📡
I am both a beta tester and a normal consumer. i'm on 17.0.1 as I've just updated which seems to me incredibly sensible. Apple does not push out updates for no good reason. Good luck with your "but I have never been impacted by a security vulnerability immediately". And as for "Some of these changes could be from months ago" oh dearMost here are patient enough not to mix beta releases with public releases.* Of course you can, but I have never been impacted by a security vulnerability immediately. Some of these changes could be from months ago that are just getting implemented/patched. Hense waiting a few days for the 17.1 beta 1 is no big deal.
*Assuming you are a beta tester versus a normal consumer relying on public releases/patches.
It's the truth, lots of past software vulnerabilities are months old before Apple gets around to fixing them.I am both a beta tester and a normal consumer. i'm on 17.0.1 as I've just updated which seems to me incredibly sensible. As soon as you're setting up the new phone, it'll ask you to update to 17.0.2.When I get the new phone , is it better to download the new update before setting in up completely ? I can't remember what I did 3 years ago when I got my 12 Pro .
Thank you !As soon as you're setting up the new phone, it'll ask you to update to 17.0.2.
“They really didn’t include the ability to display it as quarter-cycles, semi-cycles or octa-cycles? Pffft. The least they could do is give us a toggle. Are options really so hard, Apple?”Hopefully it will calm the freaking out a bit about battery health dropping, because you will see a direct correlation from cycle count to battery health. And hopefully that will mean something.
Saying that, 😆😂

“WTF Apple sort your sh*t out. It’s such a bad design all off it. I’ve still got bugs from iOS 0.1.1”

“Why isn’t beta 2 out right this second to fix this as it’s effecting only all 3 of us.”
“Hi guys, have you all tried a restart?”
User 1
“All fixed”

“Thank you. Now fixed”

I’ve downgraded to iOS 17.0.1 turning off beta option because I’m experiencing lots of bug and main bug is battery drain iPhone 14 pro. P.s I can’t get a day anymore and my battery health 91% at the moment.
Sorry I should of mentioned I was on iOS latest Dev beta. Can't remember but was it iOS 17 beta rc ?I'm confused when you say you "downgraded to iOS 17.0.1". Isn't 17.0.1 the latest stable release?
The beta was 17.0 RC, so to go to 17.0.1 would be upgrade, not downgrade.Sorry I should have mentioned I was on iOS latest Dev beta. Can't remember but was it iOS 17 beta rc ?
A upgrade would be something large/complicated like updating to IOS 17 from IOS 16.x. This is just a minor security update. The beta was 17.0 RC, so to go to 17.0.1 would be upgrade, not downgrade.
Silly I am!! That’s correct and while I’m here now posting this my battery been much much better since I upgraded to 17.0.1The beta was 17.0 RC, so to go to 17.0.1 would be upgrade, not downgrade.
I meant update, not upgrade, obviously. Point is, it’s not a downgrade.A upgrade would be something large/complicated like updating to IOS 17 from IOS 16.x. This is just a minor security update.

See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213926I don’t think this is a minor security update. Any update that changes the overall release cadence is a pretty significant update.
