I know a man for that job 😆😂

Be interesting to see what happens to my account. It was a paid for Dev account, which then expired. But I still have access to all IPSW downloads. 🤷🏽
I removed my developer profile a couple of builds ago. Tried installing one i found now, and it does not give me the option to install developer build of 16.6, so i guess we're already blocked out if we're not actual developers...

For maybe half the story if you want to use OTA.

The other half, I’ve been happily installing dev IPSW files since iOS 16. Profile or not, which has nothing to do with anything now.

🚨 APPLE DOES NOT USE PROFILES ANYMORE on your iOS device 🚨

Your Dev account or Public beta is tied to your Apple ID… if you're still thinking or trying to use profiles with iOS, your slightly out of date, and I suggested everyone read up a bit to bring yourselves up to speed before even thinking about going further with iOS 17!!!

I will be testing on an ➡️ OLD device, not my daily to see if this is possible.

🚨 And I will only be putting iOS 17 on devices that I can tolerate the instability and seriously annoying bugs 🚨.

P.s don’t worry, these will stop 🚨, just trying to get a clear message across while we can before Monday. Then it’s game over 👾 and tears for a lot of people going in stupidly blind! 👍🏼

I just installed iOS 17 beta and there's a small graphical glitch when I have all 1000 apps open and swipe continually between them all. How can Apple release such crappy software! How do I restore to iOS 16? I don't have any backups.

I LOVE putting beta 1 on my main device…but I’m a loner, a rebel…I like to live dangerously!!

We used Profiles at our work for a while, and it worked well while we used it. But that was a while ago…

Apple clearly doesn’t need to use Profiles, and more and more work environments and management solutions don’t need them, either. That’s just the way it’s going, and no amount of anyone’s complaining is going to change anything 😝 I understand and yet I’ve been happily paying for a Dev Account for well over a decade. Seems like there’s always going to be a new way around things. Maybe they’ll expire the betas quicker? Or do those just stick to 90 days?

Damn, I’m so eager to get to know iOS 17… the stability and bug fixes, the extended battery life, the all new Lock Screen on the iPad, the ability to choose accent colors for the system, maybe even being able to change app icons… The journal app, and so much more.

17 is a pretty number, tbh. Hopefully the system is born with little bugs and issues.

On the other hand, I don’t expect much from macOS 14, maybe a tweaked/improved Stage Manager and a few more privacy/security features, but that’s expectable on a mature system like macOS.

Kinda surprised we haven’t seen Winger’s ‘She’s Only Seventeen’ posted here yet.

I just LOLed.

I wonder how close we will get to this. Ive bookmarked it!

My favorite was the guy that showed one app was a pixel off center from the one below it…in a beta…and couldn’t understand how Apple let this slip through. I mean, they ARE a design company.

Not a "Pixel Perfect" company then, they can take that of their Job applications for designers 😆😂

Whoever is hoping to be able to install iOS 17 through ipsw without having a developer account, forget it. And if you use Windows, then forget it completely, because Apple does not start signing the betas until the RC or final version, in recent years it has been like that, and iTunes will not be updated until the same day that iOS 17 is released Or maybe later. You can't install the builds like you can install the current mid-betas.
Last year without going any further, I downloaded each and every one of the ipsw betas, to try if by chance they signed it, and it always gave me an error obtaining SHSH from apple servers. This with 3utools of course, it was updated in mid-June with compatibility for ios 16, this year I suppose the same will happen.
only a developer with access to a mac and the resources that apple has at his disposal can update or restore with the ipsw files until september.
At least, until now it has been so. It is up to Apple to give more freedom in this, but seeing the decisions to restrict access to the developer beta program, I do not expect any change.
It's time to arm yourself with patience I think.

How are you getting ahold of the dev ISPW file without a dev account though?

What ever for windows, don’t know, don’t care… but we don’t know yet what you’ll be able to put on a device with an iOS 17 IPSW file until it’s out.

Unless you have concrete evidence to back up this very bold statement?

I’ll do an IPSW file test on an old device as soon as iOS 17 is out and report back, as I won’t have a paid for Dev account associated to my Apple ID when doing so like many of you. - then I’ll happily pay once we put this to bed with fact, not fiction. 👍🏼
