If the second beta for iOS 17.3 doesn’t add any additional new features, I think the iPadOS 17.3 beta cycle should be pretty short. Maybe we’ll see the public release of 17.3 sooner, and bypass a 17.2.1 update altogether.

That is what I think will happen. 17.3 is essentially bug fix releases so why release other bug fix releases in the interim?

I also hope that Apple will add some new features that I would like to see, such as the ability to customize FaceTime video calls or an improved translation feature.

I think the recent elimination of iTunes in 17.2 and using a mediocre substitution with the current Apple TV app across OS's is a lot more important on people's minds with 17.x OS these recent days. (navigation, trailers, wishlists, the too simplified app GUI). So that should be something that iOS 17.4/.5 addresses IMHO.

FWIW the 17.3 had a massive addition with Stolen Device Protection and it has at least 2 serious bugs.

What are the bugs? I hadn’t heard of any, and I don’t think I’ve encountered any. At this point, I guess we’re probably looking at a beta after the holidays sadly.

Great thing about beta and beta testers is that they report that stuff to Apple so that myself and other non beta-testers get to enjoy the finished result :)
Glad the beta-testers are around, should really be appreciated more I think.
