DB5 should be this week since those are usually weekly after beta 4, there isn’t really that long left for betas since we’re in August tomorrow.

This was a huge gripe of mine for many many years. How hard is it to add a seperate volume control for alarms. It's asinine that the volume of your alarm is dependent on system volume, you have to remember to adjust your ringer accordingly every night.
Finally I just gave up and now I use my watch as an alarm. Its great, with the Ultra the vibration on my wrist is strong enough to wake me up but not jarring. Also perfect for not waking up my wife next to me on days that I get up before her.

I do not mind, as long as the respective PB follows up shortly, as we still did not have PB2, that normally should have corresponded to DB4 released last week.
However, I do not remember any instances of Apple jumping a PB from 1 to 3, skipping PB2?
So I keep to my previous forecast - PB2 this week (can be today or tomorrow), then weekly beta releases for both DB and PB starting next week, 6 August.

More likely to see an early DB5 based on apps quitting with DB4 OS’s. Seen with DB4 of tvOS, MacOS. Also a chance of 16.7 this week maybe.
PB are not labeled 1,2,3. These news articles refer to a PB as first, second, third as a description only during the earliest examples. You have to go by what build a PB is using.
Considering the amount of software Apple are actively working on right now (the usual releases + visionOS), I would just leave iOS 16.6 as is, save for some possible security fast patches. What’s the point of releasing iOS 16.7 just a few weeks prior to iOS 17?

But I think we would have gotten the PB already so that's why I think we'll get DB5 first.

The fact that a PB didn't occur in the first couple of day after DB4 released coupled with all the wonky MacOS DB4 installs sorta says Apple is aware of some security issues you could manually accept. Example the transition from Safari 17 showing some issues with displaying MacRumors web pages like they had some security issues (DB2/DB3), to now it doesn't do that but the app quits sometimes shows that the transition of DB3 to DB4 entailed a lot of changes. Hoping for a DB5 to further improve OS behavior.

Xcode 15 beta 5 has been out since July 25 when iOS 17 beta 4 (and the others) came out.
And no one said anything different.
The quote from Zollo was about a new TestFlight update to submit Apps build with Xcode 15 beta 5, not an update to Xcode itself.
The post read as if people thought Xcode 15 beta 5 was to be the NEXT beta since the OS updates are currently on beta 4.
It's specifically talking about TestFlight. But this update usually aren't associated with a upcoming seed.
