I'm in the UK, all my 3 devices updated to 18.1 - iPad, mac and iPhone, all toggled with Apple Intelligence. For the iPad it took 3s, for my iPhone about 20min. Anyway, I can't see anything new.....

This doesnt make any sense.
The main point to release an 18.1 beta this early is to test the AI features. Other than that, thats probably the same 18.0 build that is being tested right now on the beta cycle.
So why would they allow anyone that don’t have access to a newer device to test the 18.1 leaving the 18.0 Beta, which is the priority, empty?
After the 18.0 oficial release obviously they’ll allow all devices to test the 18.1
Uh? So why if 18.1 is the track Apple is going because clearly 18.0 doesn’t have AI and never will, they are just fully beta testing 18.1 on all devices if that’s what they will all get pretty quickly after the release of iOS 18.

These are all guessing for sure.

Are you referring to the 18.1 beta install itself, or the AI setting after updating to 18.1?

There's no waitlist to install the beta, but once you upgrade and try to enable AI, that puts you on the list (which is apparently very short right now).

I was.

After install I’m in and Siri GUI and everything else seems to be working. Kind of.
If you ask questions the answers may be a bit off.

I asked Siri (on my 15 ProMax) when was the next SpaceX launch. See attached for answer.

Has anyone managed to get Type to Siri to work as the bar flashes but doesn’t do anything

Ignore me if your having issues with Type to Siri just reboot your device it fixed it for me.
The first time I did it, it took me to the Siri settings page. Now it just flashes.

You misunderstood what the 18.1 Beta is for. It‘s not for you to toy with or provide feedback in terms of overall iOS bugs, it‘s exclusively there for AI testing and that requires the latest hardware.

There probably is nothing in there that is different from iOS 18.0 that isn‘t tied to AI somehow.
Read back through this thread. People have already named several things that were fixed with 18.1.

I have AI enabled and active on my iPad, but my iPhone still says "Joined Waitlist" and "files are downloading" even though I'm pretty sure they're fully downloaded already (2.86 GB). Anyone else?

Features I’ve discovered so far.

Reader Summary in Safari - You can now Summarize an article using the Reader in Safari
Mail Summary - You can now Summarise an Email in Mail
Mail Smart Reply - Gives suggestions and writes an email reply with one tap
Obviously Type to Siri and the new Siri UI
and the new writing tools - so far I’ve only used it in Notes.
Now the question is how accurate are the summaries?

18.1, alongside macOS 15.1 and all the other .1s, likely won’t launch until mid to late October.
Probably alongside in October event.
Betas for 18.1 for all of the other devices are more than likely coming down the pike, I assume with Beta 3.

Apparently. I have set my language and region to US, also, set my AppleStore to the US applied and set my vpn to NYC US. Still can’t get in :/
I only did language and region, nothing to Apple Store and haven't enabled my VPN at all.
