So I borrowed your photo to see if I could get Cleanup to do a bit better, and I would argue I did. Instead of circling the area, I swiped vertically across the tattoo area several times, with each iteration removing a bit more. It took like 5 swipes and less than 10 seconds.

Update: Just wanted to add that ideally, we want the cleanup tool to work with just a single tap/circle/swipe gesture, but it’s nice to know there are some workarounds to get a better output with it.

For many things I find scrubbing to select works better than circling. Sometimes it is the reverse. Still a beta.

I have my phone in dark mode, and I have selected that the icons change between dark and light automatically, but in beta 3 it seems to have broken. Despite having it in automatic mode and not removing dark mode, it puts the icons in light mode randomly whenever it wants. I also use the dynamic background of iOS 18, and it seems to have also broken, it has not changed since I installed beta 3. I don't know if one of the two things happens to you, or both. In case they work for you, restore with IPSW file to see if it solves me.

If you're planning on upgrading to the 16 keep in mind you won't be able to restore from backup out of the box because it will be running iOS 16 and you can't restore to a newer version of iOS as far as I remember. I could be wrong. If that's still the case you will have to set up the iPhone as new and upgrade to 16.1 before restoring from backup.
I'm sure you mean that it will be running iOS 18, and not iOS 16 (from 2 years ago)..

But the set up process will prompt you to download and install the 18.1 beta build, so you can do it out of the box but it will take longer

I was curious and tried "Clean Up" and compared it to my Samsung Galaxy AI eraser to remove the neck tattoo and well .. there is room for improvement I would say haha

Did you zoom in on the photo first? Or did you do it from the default magnification?
Still can’t mute videos in the Messages app? Wow.
I can't mute videos playing in the Photos app...

So Send Later isn’t available with text message or RCS? Only iMessage?

I guess I did it wrong based on the other poster. On Samsung AI and Google AI you just need to circle the area and it picks it up
I definitely would not say you did it wrong. Sounds to me like you followed the brief instructions Apple gave. Your original post is 100% correct, there is room for improvement.

Which is why I’m wondering what distracting items he’s seeing. I have a free adblocker and see nothing but the posts here.
To be clear: there aren’t any “distracting items” that I’m personally trying to remove from these forums… but the fact that the option to hide items on this website only shows up 50% of the time indicates to me that this feature isn’t properly working.

These screenshots were taken 30 seconds apart…

Anyone else that still have issues with the big emoji picker? Updated from iOS 18 beta 7 to iOS 18.1 beta 3. Didn’t have that issue for some while, but now I got it back.

I will state which my fellow readers would not like to read.. The battery life on my 15PM is even worse than 18.1 Beta 2.

My 15 PM is at 97% health and 150 charge cycles. On 17.5, it used to last 1.5 days. Now on on 18.1 Beta 3, it is completely dead by midnight.

Yes I meant 18, my bad. Glad to know the setup process has been updated. I remember a few years ago this is something we had to worry about.
