Interesting. Videos in my Photos app have a mute on/off button…
Prior to 18.0 I had the mute button & it worked. After installing 18.0 db1, the mute button was there but was grayed out & non-functional. Same condition with 18.1 db1. With 18.1 db2 the mute button seems to have been removed entirely.

I have a feedback open on it and it has the “potential fix identified - for a future iOS update” tag on it.

I will state which my fellow readers would not like to read.. The battery life on my 15PM is even worse than 18.1 Beta 2.

My 15 PM is at 97% health and 150 charge cycles. On 17.5, it used to last 1.5 days. Now on on 18.1 Beta 3, it is completely dead by midnight.

Repeat after me: It’s …a ….beta.

And it’s a beta that is using the processor to an extent probably never seen before on a mobile device.

What are you trying to explain to me exactly? FFS even I mentioned that it's a beta. Take a chill pill.

Anyone in the UK with EE got this message this morning along with a new 5G Standalone toggle in the Mobile Data settings?

I am interested in how the iOS 18.1 Clean Up compares to the Pixel's Magic Eraser if anyone has had a chance to play with both. I haven't even unboxed my Pixel Pro 9 XL yet, so haven't had a chance to play. Too busy to setup more devices.

Greyed out for me. Is this contract dependent on EE? I’m sim only.

I'm on .1beta3, EE UK on Sim only (physical sim if that makes any difference). No warning message appeared, it's been like this since the last beta.

Happily, my 15 PM is in much, much, much better shape with b3 than b2. b2 was torching my phone, almost literally. Frequently too hot to even charge, sometimes too hot to hold, it would regularly go into super-heated mode. If I wanted to charge it, I would sometimes have to power the phone off completely to do so. The number of times my battery was sub-20%, sub-10% charge was nearly constant. It would die in the middle of the night. My battery health went from 99%/98% (can't recall which, now) down to 91% in less than two weeks with b2.

With b3, my phone is operating much more like it did with 17.x, or even 18.0. Nice and cool, responsive, and battery times that don't make me start examining every little thing on the phone.

One neat piece, after cleaning up an item or two, if you press on the main or foreground “person”, it will flash in all the items you had removed.
This is something that has been available since editing in photos was introduced. Holding the photo shows you the original without edits.

I’m on the same as you then. Maybe it’s dependant on what’s in the country you are atm? I’m in central London for what it’s worth?
I’m in Manchester. I don’t think EE have officially rolled out standalone 5G, so it might be very geographically dependent at the moment. It honestly doesn’t make any noticeable difference.

I’m on sim only and the toggle is working. I doubt I’ll even qualify for SA on my EE sim as I’m on an essential plan.

Apparently EE are only going to allow the new All Rounder plans and Full Works plans to access it, at least at first.

I’m on a Full Works sim now… time will tell I guess!

You’ll need to upgrade to one of the new Full Works plans AIUI.

You’ll see 5G Standalone and Network Prioritisation add-ons in your account when it’s available for you.
