Does changing your region, so AI works, effect your e-sim, does anyone know?

Currently UK.
Using an eSIM and had no issues. I did have to change my region back to USA from Canada to get Apple AI to work again, and set it back to Canada after it worked. My language has always been to English USA for AI as most y’all know that’s needed still :)

So for me, if I go to Apple intelligence in settings, Talk&Type to Siri is greyed out and below it says Siri&Dictation have been restricted in this iphone..

Any idea why?

If I want a soft landing onto public 18.1, do I:

1) wait for a dev 18.1 RC then flip to ‘off’
2) switch to public beta and then download the RC eventually there
2) flip beta off now and the first public release will update

Just a thought. In screen time have activated any Siri & Dictation restrictions under the content and privacy restrictions setting and then in allowed apps and features?

Question for the collective... does the new Siri notification (colored lighting around the screen borders) not appear on the iPhone? I was certain it did, but after going from b3 to b4 on 18.1 I notice it doesn't... But it does show on my iPad..

It’s normal here. She is there as always 👍🏻

Apologies me if this is already been discussed, but I’ve got a call and when it was directed to voice mail, the iPhone transcribed me the voice mail being posted. Pretty neat.

Which iPhone do you have? 15 pro and pro max on up have this option only

That sounds like Live Voicemail which has been available in some regions since iOS 17. Perhaps the update enabled it for you.

I'm also seeing only the hearing control in the control center. If I delete it, when I interact with the connectivity widget, turning the wifi on or off for example, it reappears by itself. By doing that, I've come to see 4 hearing controls.

I added a medium sized hearing devices button to a second page and no extra ones have appeared for me so far.

I have a 15 Pro Max, but when I say "Hey Siri" I get the old style "floating bubble" but I thought that was changed on all devices..

EDIT: I turned off Apple Intelligence, restarted my phone and then turned AI back on... I now have the correct interface.. Of course I am not certain if it was the restart or cycling AI that did it since I did them both at once.. 😂
