Definitely a bug in the Mail app. I often get a new message, read it but the badge icon still shows 1 new message for a while. Force closing the app often fixes it.

Installed RC2, definitely some heat and slow performance upon first bootup but I just left the phone plugged in and locked for an hour or so for it to complete whatever background tasks it was managing. Performance all seems very good and smooth now and I have to say I am really appreciating the changes to the photos app. I thank anyone from Apple who has been reading through my thread on how much I hate the new photos app in iOS 18.

iOS 18.2 RC 2 actually crashes the camera on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It seems like whenever the macro camera is activated, the camera app crashes.

I had to revert back to 18.1.1 and restored from iCloud. So far so good, no such crash anymore.

Didn't see it mentioned, but they brought back the better version of the call log where your recents are no longer a minefield when you hang up a call.

Edit: spoke too soon, the better recents log is not back.

Wait, but could it maybe be an issue with the wifi at work then? As that seems a very specific issue.

Can you try opening a VPN when at work to see if it starts working?
So what do you mean by opening a VPN? I have one installed on my phone.

Try this, it worked for me:

Notifications > Mail > Customize Notifications

Change badges to All Unread Messages. Check each account to verify if badges are turned on (and banners and sounds if you roll that way).

For me neither, I still have the old and terrible design of recent calls. Apple seems to be going to commission the scammers and SPAM callers who are helped by the fact that we can return calls very easily.

FBI just finally playing catch up. Coverage is a joke. Forbes predicting the end of green bubbles.

Well that’s not really news, it’s a weakness in the GMS standart that’s been known for years, not even sure if it’s fixed for calls over volte or 5g, but basically if you get access to any telco that your targets phone is able to roam on you can clone the phone and get all calls and sms. A few years back hackers was selling access to phones for like nothing, because telco`s in Africa had really ***** security.
The new thing must be they court the Chinese with there hands in the cookie jar big time

And now the FBI is saying the opposite: stop using WhatsApp, Signal, etc.

Clear as mud?

Read Snowdens book and you'll see how much you can trust any organisations like the FBI. Not just in the US but worldwide.

This, I turned Private relay off and nothing changed, no VPN, and have removed and added accounts. The crazy thing for me is that it works on my wifi at home and always on cellular, but as soon as I connect to wifi at work it stops connecting and downloading messages. It also drains the battery like crazy.
Sound like a network policy at your work. Our technology blocks the Apple mail app with gmail and have us on Outlook client. Gmail does work with the gmail app to so they only block Apples mail client for whatever reason. Even on personal phones gmail wont work with Apples client but fine on Gmail client. But point being that is by design not because its broken.

So we are small business and I know the IT guy personally. Our network was find until 18.2 RC 1 was released. Since then I have had issues with the mail app. I have reached out to our IT, and they have tried several things with no luck. If it is blocked, it's not on purpose.

No they didn’t? At least not for me…
Weird, mine is definitely the updated version. It was not on RC 1, but it is on RC 2.

Edit: WTH?? Somehow I was on an improved version of the call log, but now it's gone...very strange. Somehow I landed there after a call earlier and that screen had a back button on it. I hit that and now I'm stuck back on the crappy minefield.

If I put on my tinfoil conspiracy hat I would say FBI only says that because they have a back door and want to make the criminals feel safe and not change to something else.
FBI shouldn’t worry about that app law abiding citizens that would follow their advice use.

I've got a 2018 iPad Pro on iPadOS 18.2 RC2 and I keep losing my Internet Connection. I've tried resetting Network Settings and reinstalling from the .ipsw file, and even restarted my Home Router. Wasn't an issue on RC1 and none of my other iDevices are having any issues (3 Macs, 2 iPhones, 2 other iPads, 3 Apple Watches). It's just this one iPad Pro that's having an issue. I thought I had it sorted, but then again today it's saying "No Internet Access". Tried enabling Airplane mode.. I'm at a loss.
