RCS is gonna be more of a god send then I thought…trying to send a pic to an Android friend with only one bar was brutal earlier today. Sending over WiFi is needed sometimes where I live!
That’s interesting - for me on iOS 17, it shows a little indicator in the Messages app on the summary list at the start of their message to show which line it came from. (see attached screenshot where the “T” is the first character of the line’s name)Another is related to the messaging app and not knowing which line the text came from.
I think you're talking about two different situations. Those icons show when you are using dual SIM on your phone to indicate which of your lines the conversation is on, not when you're contacting someone else that has more than one number. Also on iOS 17, do not have that, perhaps it a regional thing? I’m in the USA.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your issue, but if you click the contact name/photo at the top, then (i) it'll say "recent" next to the number that was used.Agree fully on the accidental calls. Coming from android this has been one of my annoyances.
Another is related to the messaging app and not knowing which line the text came from. Meaning, one name with a work cell number and a personal cell number. I cannot tell which number the text is from. It got to the point I needed to add a second contact entry. So I have First name, Last name_personal and _work. I haven’t seen that mentioned as being fixed.
Definitely not new. On iOS 17, when I played content on my ATV through my HomePods I often got the collapsed media controls, and they expand when tapped. No you didn't, it's new in iOS 18, at least for TV content.
It’s funny because I’m reading this now, and exactly this happened to me a couple of hours ago.The classic scenario: during a call and trying to tap the red end button to end call but the other party tapped it faster than you. So it ended tapping accidentally the contact name in the recent call list that it is in the same height with the end button. If u know what I mean. And these days with the fast 4G and 5G networks there is no delay between tapping and hearing the calling sound. So embarrassing.
The real innovation will be when we can turn the media controls off for a particular Apple TV without disabling AirPlay.Definitely not new. On iOS 17, when I played content on my ATV through my HomePods I often got the collapsed media controls, and they expand when tapped.
yep, so just as useless as before.cant find a way to add the VPN toggle as a standalone one, like the rotation lock or silent switch are.
It is new to iOS 18, but has been mentioned already in this thread. This probably isn’t new and I’m just noticing it on my 15PM. When you press the volume buttons and the other button on the other side. It indents the screen…. Like I said it probably isn’t new
And you would be correct! This probably isn’t new and I’m just noticing it on my 15PM. When you press the volume buttons and the other button on the other side. It indents the screen…. Like I said it probably isn’t new
Where's the OpenAI ChatGPT integration? Where can I indicate my pro OpenAI account? I can't find it in the settings in the iOS 18 Beta 1.(As always, Mods, can we pin?) Post about the little things (excluding highly published features) that have changed in iOS 18 here. Note that this is a wiki post, which means that you can add directly to this post.
NOTE: As always this is NOT a thread for bugs, questions, or troubleshooting the betas. All posts must present a new feature or function, or new behaviour not mentioned in the keynote. Please screenshot where necessary. Comments on features are welcome, but stay on topic. This is also not a thread for whining about missing features, complaining, in-fighting, or personal agendas. Keep this informative and to the topic at hand.
Beta 1:
- Vehicle Motion Cues can be controlled from the new Control Center
- Flashlight now has a new pop up in the Dynamic Island and can be swiped right and left on it to change the beam. It has three settings
- When pressing volume buttons or action button a small black “push” appears on screen
- In Health, when data updates, it animates instead of just popping in.
- Most default tab view apps, when changing tabs there is now a subtle fade and bounce animation.
- If you’re listening to music with AirPods and record a video, the music on the AirPods does not stop, and the videos still record the audio through the iPhone (@DeanL)
- New Field Test Mode with additional information (@DeanL)
- Medications in Health can be scheduled for a specific number of days
Not just yet; although it crashes all the time since I installed iOS 18 Beta 1.No camera app updates either?
Negative. Are any of the AI (Apple Intelligence) features available in this first beta?
I assume you are being sarcastic. But if not: its not in this beta.Where's the OpenAI ChatGPT integration? Where can I indicate my pro OpenAI account? I can't find it in the settings in the iOS 18 Beta 1.
As per various posts, coming in a later beta.Where's the OpenAI ChatGPT integration? Where can I indicate my pro OpenAI account? I can't find it in the settings in the iOS 18 Beta 1.
And only to US users when 18 comes out. So most likely not for us beta testers worldwide! 😬As per various posts, coming in a later beta.
It looks impressive!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎Someone on X had posted a video, before deleting it, of an internal iOS 18 build showcasing the new Siri UI and in the Settings you can see a new option for "Greymatter & Siri", the former being the codename for the Intelligence features.
I would assume that if you provide your credentials it will be just as it is now with OpenAI.I’m still wondering if adding our GPT Plus subscription is going to ruin the privacy Apple will be providing while handling the requests to OpenAI.
