Does the second person have RCS enabled? If they are using a third party messages app RCS doesn’t work, as an example.
Interesting, I didn't even think about that. Both people that still show sms are using Samsung phones. Apple taking all the blame for not working on RCS earlier, but clearly it's not that simple. People on Android can use tons of different messages apps.

I use a Samsung S22 as a second phone, if I use the Google messages app (and I think the Samsung app) I get RCS. As I use Textra (which allows me finer control, for example being able to silence notifications from specific numbers like you can do on iPhone) then RCS is not available.

The dev has said that Google refuse to allow the third party apps access to the API that controls RCS.

Wow so Google isn't completely blameless either. This is just a simple enable RCS and everything will be perfect. Still will take iMessage over anything these other guys can offer.

Honestly it's not that big of deal for me. I really dont text many people that use Android.

Like most Android things, it’s a bit of a mess. It’s just so fragmented.

Has anyone noticed that passes in Apple Wallet don't go to expired? I have a Delta Boarding Pass that is expired on my work iPhone, yet is still showing as unexpired on iOS 18.

I take it content blockers don’t work in this beta or is it just AdGuard Pro?

Currently testing this latest dev beta on an iPhone 13 mini that’s not my daily driver and it seems fine enough.

Debating whether to install this beta on my daily driver 15 Pro Max. Those who did, is it working ok? I see this issue with T-Mobile losing reception? I have t-mobile.

Which beta are you thinking about for your 15 PM? Just 18.0 or 18.1? Seems to be from people here that the 18.0 is a little more stable, and the 18.1 is good but not quite as polished. But then you get AI, so if thats something you want to test, get on 18.1.

From my experience, 18.0 has been really good. Battery has settled in, and over all performance has been good.

Thx. I’m thinking 18.0. No interest in 18.1. Good to know it’s stable.

Sure thing! It’s been a very smooth beta. Had a little keyboard lag a couple of betas back, but been much better since.
Are you not having the network issues people are reporting here with reception dropping out? Wondering if it’s tied to T-Mobile only.

Ok I installed it on my phone on after testing iOS 18 on an iPad. Obviously the new photos app is ugly. Yuck. I appreciate the change in the call list where pushing the contact no longer calls them. I’ve called many people back by mistake after thinking I hung up first and going to push end call. Now you have to push the phone icon. Dig it.

RCS shows up for some of my android friends, but not all of them. Verizon. Weird.

For RCS, check out several post earlier we had some conversation about that. It’s probably not Verizon, it has more to do with what messaging app your friends are using on android. RCS isn’t the solve all messaging problems that Google wants you to believe.
