If Apple didn't fit the parts the phone will continue to display messages like that for some time longer, or for ever, but battery health will never be shown as third party batteries don't have the proper chips. If the face or touch ID still work you are very fortunate.
I would never buy a "refurbished" phone unless Apple sold it from their refurb site.
Ah I see , yes Face ID doesn’t work , I was low on money at the time and just had to get the cheapest I could I get as my previous iPhone broke .

Also regarding heat: iPhone 15PM still warm to touch and battery life is still mediocre (not as bad as Beta 7 and feels partially better than Beta 8).
My 15 Pro only had slight heat and battery drain when the 'Update finishing in background' notification was there in the battery status page. This was there for 2 days on beta 6 and 4 days + 2 days on beta 7 (after 4 days, it went away for a day and came back for another 2 days). I did not get the notification on beta 8 or RC and didn't have heat or battery life issues. Assuming that you haven't identified a particular app causing the heat/battery issues, maybe it's time to try the IPSW method or reset?

All of my annoying bug reports are still there, worst offenders being the dynamic wallpaper glitching to the initial set state on home screens
I don't think this is ever going to be fixed. I've been using the dynamic bubbles wallpaper for years and if you use it as the Home Screen wallpaper, it will only sync for 1 or 2 unlocks and then it stops syncing with the Lock Screen. Been this way since at least iOS 15 as far as I remember.

I mean the new wallpaper they added that changes the color hue depending on the time of day. They had it fixed for 1 beta (Beta 4?) and then broke it again.

Regarding heat, I‘ll just ride it until it dies and get battery etc. replaced with AC+. Probably settles in with the next few updates.

Yeah, I got that. The issue is with all dynamic wallpapers, not just the new one and the bug has been around for a long time.

Which begs the question, what magic code twist did they do in B4 that had them working for 2 weeks straight without any glitch? Hope we find out one day.

Usually, and *maybe* a small delta patch between the iOS 18 RC and the official GM (if they update anything).
No I mean third-party apps. Once RC is out devs can submit app updates/versions that include iOS 18 features, such as proper dark mode and tinted icons. I'm just wondering when we'll first start seeings app updates mentioning "iOS 18" or "dark mode icons" in their release notes. I'm assuming it'll be from public release day, but I can't remember from the last few years when it actually happened.

Apple has called for the iOS 18-based apps... but Apple will still hold them from release in the App Store until the appropriate time (GA release day, 9/18).

15 Pro here, it’s been fine all morning (EU here), then suddenly started acting like beta 7 and 8: random heating (especially in Safari), abysmal battery life.
Will try to restore from IPSW on Saturday, but I really don’t like this behaviour. If it doesn’t fix it, I’m reverting back to 17.6.1 until these issues are fixed.

Is this new? The flashlight looks this color when it is activated in the lockscreen

Anyone else have photos running in the background a lot?

It’s taken 7% of my battery all background activity.

The only issue I am having is the delay while typing with the default iOS keypad. It’s the only one I use. And I feel like I am typing faster than it can keep up and it is rather annoying.

Seems I spoke too soon…

Just picked up that the Automatic IP configuration for WiFi is broken, and it has something to do with the “private WiFi address” toggle…

If I manually input IP settings it works fine.

If you've configured your router to allocate IP addresses to specific MAC addresses then you'll get a different IP address each time you connect. Plus, if the MAC address "rotates" (Private W-Fi Address set to" Rotating" rather than "Fixed") during a connection you may even get a new IP address while in the middle of something.

The "Private Wi-Fi Address" toggle should be set to "Off" for home networks (and maybe work ones too) to stop the above issue.
