iOS 27 Beta 5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

So I know that CarPlay has some issues listed for items that are broken. Trying to respond to text in CarPlay last night seemed wonky and not as good as beta 4. Had times when it wouldn't work.

Also my U3 is on iOS 26.6 still, had a couple of times where I tried to send a text from my watch and I had mixed results of success for it actually working.

So I have this issue while walking and listening music. The Workout Buddy interrupts (as always) to record the walk/talk about the pace but then the music stays on the low volume even after he finishes. I have to unblock the phone and open the app switcher for the sound to come back to the normal volume. I need to test more but this wasn't happening in beta 4.

How do you turn find my off?

Settings / Apple Account / Find My / Find My Phone

If you have Stolen Device Protection on, you'll have to turn that off first.

Hoping the next beta addresses the following bugs I have:
- Find My AirTags address show as unavailable - other tabs show either label name ("home") or city/state/country.
- Find My pinch out zoom not working half the time
- Safari on iPad - the top of pages is unresponsive
- App library haptic touch creating new icons on homescreen
- In control center, wifi network selector, the bar strength is backward somehow..
- remote app constant disconnects from apple TV

I am having this as well. Annoying and a re-start of the phone doesn't help either.

Removing all pinned contacts fixes it or scroll down a bunch and back up and it will be fixed without needing to close and reopen the app.

There's a new bug in DB5 whereby long-pressing an app icon in the App Library will dump a copy of that icon in a home page - sometimes a new one.

There's also a bug (which Apple calls "working as designed") whereby dragging an icon from the Siri Search window will silently delete any duplicate of that icon, whichever home page it might be in.

So it's basically a mess with different Apple teams seemingly not know what they should be doing or how it should work. Duplicate icons are very useful when one uses Focus modes to switch home pages.

So,QuarterSwede - yes, duplicate icons are a feature but the bug posted above is a bug.

Fix: My cameras came back online in Home!

Broken: Weird black bar in Messages at the top. Closing it and reopening it fixes it, but it does come back.

Umm… long pressing on the Safari app in the App Library creates a new Safari app on a fresh home page… and continues to happen every time you long press.

EDIT — wow this happens with multiple apps. Simply long pressing apps like Safari, Music, Mail, Messages, etc add those apps to a new homepage

Stupid investigation for the app duplicate : if you change the speed of the Haptic Touch (ex-3D Touch) in Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Haptic Touch and put another sensitivity ? (long or short or normal)

Change for a 2026 Ford Escape.

Are you trying to forget the car in Bluetooth and General > CarPlay settings (when unplugged and your car is running on) and next you shutdown the iPhone and stop the car 5 minutes (to be sure the onboard computer is really off) restart all and configure CarPlay again ?

Anyone having issues with initially unlocking iPhone with Face ID? When I raise my iPhone to wake, Face ID does not unlock my iPhone. Only after waking it a second time and subsequent unlocks does it work without hiccups. Happens on both my iPhone 17 Pro Max and my M5 iPad Pro

Try Settings > Accessibility > Face ID & Attention : and disable it, restart, enable it again et try again

Wi-Fi signal strength depleting from the bottom’s a funny one. My guest Wi-Fi SSID is listed twice during some refreshes as well. Neither issue is present in Settings > Wi-Fi.

Live Photo goes on randomly when going into camera app. This happened on beta 4.

Reported to Apple in beta 4. < 10 have the same issue. Anyone else notice this?

If the keyboard’s open in an app and you swipe up to the Home Screen, the keyboard immediately bobbles as if it’s trying to close but persists open longer than it should, slowing further interaction.

In Settings, if you tap Family and then Optimising Search and Siri, the ‘Add Member’ button from Family persists over to Optimising Search and Siri. The button’s not functional when tapped in Optimising Search and Siri.
