It is also performance. Performance is both the time it takes you to go from A to B and how you get from A to B.
In a technical sense of it it is part of that, in the sense that the term is mostly used and applied it's somewhat separate (not unrelated of course but often not really bundled together either).

Can anyone comment on if the 3d touch bug has been fixed? Basically in messages app using 3d touch on the keyboard does not work after the first time.

Siri seems better for me in beta 2 vs 9.2 and 9.2.1b1. Especially Hey Siri..she wouldn't respond until the 2nd time I said it at least a good 1/3 of the time on 9.2 and 9.2.1b1. Her recognition and answers seem to be a little more on point also. Though a lot of this is hard to quantify or test exactly so feel free to take this as anecdotal.

Just something I noticed.

I really hope that lawsuit goes somewhere.I am ready to put in some of my own $ to help them should the need arise.Deliberately slowing down the 6 so users can buy the 6S is not cool. They knew 6s owners wouldn't upgrade to the 6 based on 8.4.1 performance levels which is why they have intentionally put in code in spotlight and control centre which bogs it down.I handled a 6S the other day and the CC and spotlight is night and day on a 6S as compared to the 6.

I have posted a **** ton of visual evidence in the other beta threads and repeatedly send them to Apple.Nothing changes.Scroll down the list of apps in Mobile Data.Stuttercity.Pull down to spotlight still has a 1 second pause before responding. The control centre has lag when swiped up in Siri, app switcher and when we swipe it up in spotlight.I have since stopped using it because it annoys me.On the Air 2 open the wishlist and via the app switcher navigate to to home screen and here is lag in transition.Scrolling in almost all apps has become a pain.It used to be buttery smooth on 8.4.1 wherein some Android fanboys actually envied iOS.Now it's become worse than Android.

Lag is a bug and better performance is highlighted on the main page of iOS 9 on Apple's website.Stop living in denial. If you don't like what we post than add us to the ignore list. Its that simple.
Mr Radon, I can't believe you keep harping on the same old, worn out topic. Owning both a 6 and now a 6s, I can state categorically that neither suffer from any of your continued hogwash. Who is paying you for your continued diatribe against iOS 9? If you really want to join the class action lawsuit against Apple go find yourself a dusty 4s. Better yet use your $ and setup a website whose sole purpose is rag on and on about your lag and stutter. Leave these forums for those of us truly interested in improving a product that we continue to support with our hard earned cash. I for one and I doubt I am alone, am thoroughly enjoying the advances brought forth with iOS 9. With every iteration it only gets better.

Thanks for your valuable contribution but this changes nothing because what I am stating is factually present on the phone.Mobile data apps does lag.Spotlight does lag.Trying to put your head in the sand and get annoyed by those who state facts isn't going to solve neither your nor my problem. If you find my "tirade" annoying you do have the option to block me while I discuss with he other members of the forums (many in number) who suffer from the same issues I am.
But then HOW DARE I expect the original device performance from a company's product on which I have spent more than 1500 bucks, right?

You are most welcome. But understand that there are vast numbers of us that simply don't have your "lag" issues, something that you, apparently, enjoy repeating ad nauseum. It's beyond me why you choose to keep a device that you clearly do not like. Sell it! There are plenty of aggressive trade in schemes out there that will result in you owning a zippy Android or some such. Then you wouldn't have to DARE anyone with getting the performance you deserve. One thing I do find puzzling is how on earth you spent more than $1500 on an iPhone? Is it gold plated? And to be clear, my clan is happily running iOS 9 on a 5, 5s, a couple of 6 and now a couple of 6s. Can iOS be better? Of course it can but isn't that true of just about anything in life? And as I and many others continue to say, let's have meaningful discussions on real bugs and fixes in iOS 9.2.1 Beta 2. The whole discussion on perceived lag (or whatever the correct buzzword is these days) can be had elsewhere. Moderators?

Apparently it's not used seperate since you've been busing correcting people who mix up "performance" and "stutters" for months now.

And that's part of the point--various people mix things up all together even though that's not the case. Some people have also being saying that devices become unusable and horrific and are essentially bricks when iOS 9 in installed-- certainly doesn't make that the reality for the vast majority just because some people say that.

Interesting. I'll have to do some digging. The last time I checked, RCN in the Philly suburbs still had IPv4
[doublepost=1451993504,1451986815][/doublepost]

I have RCN outside of Philly & can't find anything on this. Any advice ?
I wouldn't think either of those would effect your wifi connection. That would be further down the line. I would recommend looking for firmware update for your router. Forgetting the wifi connections on your iDevice and rejoin.

After OTA update to 9.2.1 beta 2, my iPhone 6s is constantly switching off showing no battery while I have about 43-45% left. After switching on the phone is switching off again and again showing 43% of battery left. Downgraded to 9.2, no issue.

Has it ever occurred to you that if the majority of people aren't experiencing the lag and stutter you describe then maybe it's your particular phone. The amount of effort people go to, to make YouTube videos bashing the screen of their phone, building "evidence", starting class action lawsuits and becoming plaintiffs is amazing - all the while, time would be better spent restoring the iOS software and the backup. I'd be surprised if the problem persisted after that but if it did you could start fresh and install one app at a time until you find out which one is causing the problem (or switching off background app refresh altogether) or taking it to an Apple Store to check the hardware.

I can say first hand after setting up an iPhone 5C for a friend this Christmas that it runs so smooth on iOS 9 I was actually surprised (after reading the amount of nonsense on these forums).

I, too, am just about done with these beta threads. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that the OS stutters or lags a little bit: who cares? Who gave you a right to expect absolute perfection (as you judge it) at all times? These devices didn't even exist 9 years ago. Now they are capable of things that were only in the realm of science fiction even 10-15 years ago. I say you say "thank you Apple and Google and Microsoft" for these wonderful, life-changing devices and software. Tell us one time in each beta thread about what you are experiencing lag-wise. And then get off your frickin' high horse about it. As others have said, if you are so upset about it, save yourself a lot of stress and negative emotion and get an Android or Blackberry or Windows phone. But leave us in peace here to discuss the phones we like and care about.

No FW update for my AirPort Extreme, but the forgetting & rejoining seems to have worked. Thank you !!!

Battery life of my 6s+ took a hit in beta 1 but seems fixed in this second seed.
I agree battery seems better for me too. Currently 54% remain with 4 hr used and 13hr std by. Mostly message, Safari, mail, phone.

Haha you didn't even get @Radon87000 point. 5c doesn't use Metal to accelerate UI animations and hence it is the only device which is flawless and does not stutter. But 5S and 6 which are more powerful than iPhone 5c stutter. That is not fair isn't it?

I have a 6S and it counters Metal's inefficiency with brute hardware power. But it is still not as smooth as 5c in control center pull up menu.

I've noticed that the icons on the home screen shift slightly after dismissing Notification Center.

This will only happen if you're using the phone with one hand and the phone tilts or is moved slightly either while pulling NC down, or after pulling it down. If the phone is moved during these times, when you dismiss NC, you'll notice the home screen icons jump and re-adjust a bit. This won't happen while using the phone on a flat surface, or if it's not moved. I generally use the phone in my right hand, using my thumb to pull down NC which tilts the phone forward slightly, so on the home screen I am seeing this repeatedly.

I have parallax off on my home screen and lock screen wallpapers, however even with this off, there's always been a very slight parallax effect on the home screen. This is likely s related bug. Minor issue. Bug Reported.

Can you try the full 9.2.1 Beta 2 build? It seems something got corrupted with the OTA update. I'm running 9.2.1 Beta 2 on a 6s+. It's performing flawlessly with improved battery performance to boot.

Not sure what a mini or MBA have to do with iOS 9 or otherwise. I wish you the best of luck over on the Android side of the world. I help people with Android devices quite often and am stunned with what I read on Android related forums. Fun reading! As for myself, I am looking forward to the iPhone 7 along with iOS 10. Can't wait!

Does this seem like a 9.2 bug or just phone hardware.

Crazy. My 6s+ has the exact same issue. Haven't seen it since going to 9.2.1 b1, but I'm not holding my breath. Got a video of it like this guy so hopefully Apple will replace it if it's hardware.
