Is it considered planned obsolescence when performance is bad right out of the gate? I don't think iOS 9 is any better or worse than 8 .0 was on a brand new 6+. The real issue is its specs.

Maybe not planned obsolesce. But the OS is VERY badly optimized. They really just wanted to push it out in time for the new iPhone.

Good idea, think I'll do the same.

Operating under the logic that 9.1 will be better performance wise because it's probably newer than the GM version.

I'll let you be the guinea pig, but I was thinking along the same lines myself. The GM is likely a few weeks old at this point. Do report back!

Doing the same since the GM is so slow at the moment. Should have it in about 8 minutes it says.

This version was probably built 3 weeks ago, before the mass production of iPhone 6s. It's perfectly normal it's similar to BETA 5. We have to wait for 9.0.1 for a bump.

I just performed a clean install on my 6Plus.

GM feels just like Beta 5 - same 0.5-1 second delay opening apps or pressing the home button. Same weird clunkiness with spotlight, same heavy feeling when typing, etc.

Clearly, planned obsolescence.

That slight delay between tapping an icon and the app opening is so annoying.
