They let you call in?

Mine made me drive 20 miles there to reserve it :-/

This seems to vary from store to store. I called around and among 3 different stores (all official Apple Stores) right near me...

* one said I could only do it by coming in-person into the store
* one said I could only do it online
* one said I could do it via phone, and indeed put me on the list right then as I was talking to them on the phone

Perhaps each individual store manager has the freedom to decide how they handle such cases.

I got on the notify list 5/5 at the Pasadena Ca store. Was told 3-5 days for 32gb 3G and its already been 6 days so im guessing more like 7-10 days i bet. One of my buddies who ended up getting on the list yesterday for a 16gb 3g was told 2-3 weeks. So we will see.

I am on the list at the West 14t St (aka Meatpacking) Apple store for a 32gb 3g as of 5/5 and have not heard yet. I did stop in to the UWS apple store on Thursday to ask if any were in stock and was told wait was 7-10 days at that point.

I also put in an order on 5/4 (est delivery is may 12-18) for same model on apple.com, which just went to prepared for shipping.

so now it's a foot race between the wait list and fedex....we'll see.

After 12 days on the list and still not receiving the email, I seriously pondered my need for a 3G when I already have an iPhone. Decided to get the wifi model instead. Btw, the Salt Lake City, UT store has plenty of 16 GB wifi's if anyone is interested.

on wait list at 5th ave store for 32gb 3g on 5/5. got the email at lunch time today.
6 day turnaround.
:):apple:

I got on the list for the iPad 32GB 3G at the 5th Avenue store on Friday (5/7) and received my email this afternoon also. I put my fianceé on the list today when we picked it up. Now I'm trying to figure out how to add documents on to GoodReader from iTunes.;)

My future father-in-law picked up the iPad 64 3G my girlfriend had reserved for me at Apple Bridgewater NJ.

Boston area stores still seem to be completely wiped.

I have been on a waiting list at both Boylston Street and Cambridgeside for almost a week now, and nothing.

Fortunately my online order is about to ship out, but it'll be interesting to see when the stock gets replenished at the Stores.

Boylston Street (the largest store in the country) hasn't received any 3Gs since launch day on the 30th.

Wow, I've been waiting twice as long as you for the same item, across the park. That's not right.

Well I finally got the email today that my Ipad 3g 64gb came in. I went on the reserve list on Sunday May 2nd. It took 10 days. Picked it up at the Natick Collection in MA.

My reserved iPad arrived Natick, Ma Apple store

It took eight days, but my 32gig 3G arrived yesterday.
I'm guessing currently the reservations exceed inventory, but it's
probably still the fastest way to get a 3g iPad. Apple iPad cases were
available too, but no camera kit.

I have the same one on reserve at the Broadway Store. PM me if you want me to meet you and I'll let you buy it instead. They need an ID to release it.

I have an iPad reserved in Bridgewater, NJ. My online order went to Prepared for Shipment, which means there is no way to cancel it. If my Bridgewater order comes in first, is there any way to return my unopened online order without incurring a restocking fee?

If you already have one on the way, it'd be nice of you to cancel your reservation to speed up everyone else's. I've also been on the list at the Cambridgeside store for about a week, I'll let you know when they come in :)

Thanks Westyfield2. Must be that there was less of a demand for the 64GB than the 32GB. I finally got my email yesterday which put me at a full week wait at King of Prussia.

Ogun, I've also been waiting for the same model at the West 14th Apple in NYC for a week and no dice. I'm definetly interested if the offer still stands. Unfortunately macrumors does not let new members send PMs so I couldn't send you my information directly on here.

Hah, couldn't figure out how to PM you... but I wanted to say thank you. I got my golden ticket email this morning.

I was wondering why I couldn't figure out how to send a PM. I got my email this morning, so if Ogun is up for it, you can have his. I got my email on day 9.

that's great, glad you finally received yours.

Ogun, let me know when/if you would be available today. you an contact me at my username1 @ yahoo (again, I can't PM yet)....

Can anybody tell me if they know anything about the availability of ipad 3g 64 gb model in miami...
Thnx..

No stock and no email from Apple flagship store in San Francisco. It's been over a week since I reserved one for pickup.

Just a heads up if your in MA. I just walked into the Apple Store at the North Shore Mall and picked up a Ipad 3g 64GB. They had alot of stock. No reserve just walked in and asked. Give it a try.

They have changed the lead shipping times and the receive date for the overseas launch. Demand must really be getting a lot higher than they predicted.
