Yeah, it's true and that's kinda a low trick to pull after repeating the late April date less than a week ago.

Still, on the plus side, we have a definite date for pricing and pre-orders and the iPad seems to be doing pretty well in the US if they're diverting stocks there to meet demand. Hopefully it also means it'll launch here with more stock available than may have been the case in April. Oh, and it gives the accessories time to catch up to demand (or, you know, be released) as well.
 
Whilst it sucks that its been delayed i feel better knowing at least a date for pricing and pre orders! bring on may 10th!

And hopforly by then a date will have been set for release.

i had a feeling something was up at the OS4 preview as let very little was said, and when pressed for more info steve just agreed with late april, i am now happy i ordered from the US, and today i have had a new status update, could be moving out today hopefully.

So much demand for a device that doesn't do Flash??

Wake up Adobe, your Flash isn't nearly as important as you think it is.

That must be quite a pill to swallow.
 
Sooo glad I bought mine from the US. What with the mifi from 3, it's amazing. Shame about everyone else though, I was planning to pick up another for my wife at the end of this month. Looks like she will now have to wait.
 
Well, that's a bag of w**k, isn't it?

I'm not holding out another full month to find out whether I can afford one - to hell with it and I'll get one later.

I had a similar cunning plan last year. I bought an iPhone PrePay SIM, which includes a year of inclusive internet, put it in a SE K800i and used it to tether my 12" PB.
It went perfectly for a month until O2 noticed and warned me to put the SIM back in an iPhone or they'd change to a non iPhone tariff without the inclusive internet:(
 
Although the US demand thing is BS, if you have a 100k units available you still sell them no matter where they are sent in the world, there must be a big bottleneck in production somewhere, i suspect they have been stockpiling the initial release back for quite some time and had hoped to get past the problem by now,clearly they have not, i am guessing its the LCD's that are holding them up, possibly the A4 as well depending on the yield rates.
 
You all have my sympathy and I'd make you all a cup of tea if I could!

I suppose that means the iBookstore and app store won't be available over here until then either.
 
The thing I find annoying is that only a few days ago at the OS4 preview they stated that the launch was still go for the end of April, surely things could not have changed so much in a few days, I wish they had been honest and stated that the release date might be put back.

Ah well, not much we can do about it anyway, life goes on, I'm quite tempted by Ebay but I'll probably hold on, and at least we have a firm date for pricing and pre orders now.
 
Lasted this long without one. I suppose another month wont matter. End of May. Believe it when I see it. Apple changes the dates more times than my wife changes her shoes!
