You are right. Sell the iPad. I have no idea why someone would buy a premium product at a premium price and then complain about the (smallish) price of the components to make it useful.

Er no i said I had decided to sell it and wait till UK release since money is now tight and I can't currently afford to be splashing out on Apps as well and without those Apps it is not serving as much use. Learn to read more then one post in a thread before running your mouth.

I don't think the apps will become any cheaper when th UK ones are launched.

I did read the thread, but if it were me I would have a think about the Apps I most wanted and start to enjoy the thing that I had spent the real money on. Enjoy what you have.

I will however have more money once the UK release hits plus will have £100 spare from the extra I spent to import after selling it. So plenty to spend on Apps.

They are great, however they are not quite as incredible as i had made them out to be in my mind. I do not think it is quite worth the £500 i paid currently and am a bit annoyed at myself. It does what i want but At this moment in time I do not have much time for it and when i do there is nothing i want to do on it. Mainly because I cannot really afford the expensive apps currently. So figured I would sell and wait so that i can afford the apps when they are officially released.

If I had all the apps I wanted I probably would not think about selling it.

If a jailbreak comes out before Monday I might consider keeping it however.

You're getting rid? I understand it was an expensive decision. I expect the iPad will replace much of my current PC/Mac browsing and light document creation work so probably worth it in the long run.

Let's see :p

At least it's positive news mate. I'm only sticking around this thread to see you get yours and to see if it was worth the wait :)

To the guy who is worried that it's not all it's cracked up to be - don't worry you'll love it! I can't put mine down and it's better than I had already hyped up in my mind (even taking into account the extortionate amount of money I eventually ended up paying for it).

Ha, yeah - I hope I do love it as much as I think I will! I've already got a bag for it and everything :)

I was out at work today all day so I missed the customs letter this morning. I hope they process it quickly, my guess would be on Tuesday - so I may have it on Wednesday :)

I'm going to try to get the day off!

by default the 3 Huawei E5 (E5830) doesn't have a web page for administration however you can change the firmware so that it does:

http://blog.brightpointuk.co.uk/huawei-e5-e5830-e5832-imo-firmware-update-available

There are few different versions on the net. I followed these instructions to the letter:

http://www.netvigatoreverywhere.com/download/E5838 Upgrade Guide.pdf

and it worked for me... however people have reported that it door stops the device. you have been warned don't blame me!!

Could you explain what 'door stops the device' means please?

when they release in late may are releasing both ipad versions or just the ipad wifi and the 3g one the next month

Another Uk based new iPad owner in the house. I originally brought as I'm a blogger and you tuber on gadgets but have fallen in love with the iPad especially since my official iPad case arrived. Lol

Anyway the official iPad case is excellent and some great apps also.

My apple iPad case thoughts watch.

I orignally posted this as a thread, but on second thoughts this could be a better place to post.

My friend is in America at the moment and bought a couple of iPad 3G's, and has asked if I would like to purchase one from him when he gets back here tomorrow. I have a few concerns before purchasing.

First of all, I notice that on the 3G iPad's, there is an option for AT&T activation. Will this always be there, even if I cut down and insert a normal UK sim?

This leads me onto my next main concern. Technically, if I insert a UK sim with prepaid mobile broadband credit loaded onto it,which i have cut down to micro sim size, should it work automatically in the iPad?

I understand the iPad 3G has only just been released and therefore the answers to these questions may not be available yet, but thought I'd ask just in case anyone at all knew.

Many Thanks

After a quick visit to the Mall I almost buckled and got the keyboard dock. Decided $69 was better in my pocket rather than in the till in the end. There were loads of 3g iPads in store and WiFi and they told me that take up was less than for WiFi version. You still need to preorder the WiFi version and that takes around 3 days to come up. Given up with the Camera Accessory.

Ordered a camera kit (USPS) and anti-glare film (Fedex) from the US to UK yesterday. Anyone any ideas roughly how long it's taking to ship these type of goods at the moment? I picked the most expensive form of postage in each case so hopefully soon? Cheers

Just over one week to go for UK pre-orders... I'm betting we get pricing info on Tuesday (Monday being a Bank Holiday).

I mean, the US got pricing what, two/three months before shipping, right? And we're down to nine days before pre-orders and still not a word!

I need to know if I need to cash in my airmiles and make a shopping trip to NYC or not!

I have a feeling pricing will be on the 10th.

How are you shipping to the UK? Have you asked Apple to ship direct to the UK? If so I suspect you'll find your order canceled. If your shipping via a forwarder then again you might find the order cancelled. If not then bundle box ships with 2-3 days from receipt of the item. So really it depends on when apple ship it. Which is about 3-5 days. So I would not expect to see this until after next week.

Hmm. Knowing Apple, you might be right. In fact, knowing Apple, on the 10th we may get pre-orders open in the Apple Store with a "will be charged on shipping" where the price field should be!

Just checked the US store and they are not shipping for 2-3WEEKS. So you'll be better off waiting for the UK store to start selling them

I can't believe people in the UK will actually buy the ipad 3G, it's not a smart move at all.
What Im doing is getting an unlocked Mifi device off ebay and the Ipad Wifi.

It will let me send a wireless broadband 3g internet connection to upto 4 devices at the same time. So instead of spending £15+ a month to power a the internet for one device, and can spend that much to give many devices at the same time.

and if people just want the ipad3g instead of the wifi, because it has the GPS.

Get a map, much cheaper, or if your really want to have GPS get a proper device like a tom tom. are people actually going to use the GPS on the 3g in there day to day lives anyway?

whats the point, it will look stupid in the car because it's far too big and not as good as a tom tom or what ever and if your walk down the street with an ipad you will just get mugged.
