I am another one refreshing and waiting for the pricing.

Looks like it isn't going to be today though.

It's so hard to resist purchasing one off ebay, The only thing keeping me away from doing that, is my £80 Apple voucher.

Anyone else planning on queueing up on Day 1?

I'll most likely be at Highcross in Leicester, or Bull Ring in Birmingham!

I spoke to one of the guys in my local Apple Store over the weekend and they said that they will be doing pre-order collections just like the US. But I am still going to queue up to get one, or at least be there waiting very early to collect it.

Ebay is too tempting, but if without the UK app store and possible warranty issues I think holding out for it is worth it... if you can manage :p

no!! this is not something i have time or inclination to do, and what if you end up queueing and they run out of stock.

the rumour about lack of preorder is another reason to try and source one elsewhere...

Yeah I'll preorder to collect if possible :D

You could always save the Apple voucher to use on iPad accessories ;)

After waiting and waiting and waiting for Apple to announce the prices on the 3G + Wi-fi models, or even a rigid release window for the iPad in the UK I caved in and got an American friend to purchase a regular 16GB version last Saturday, which I will be picking up tomorrow, I still cannot believe that Apple have not announced any new details for the international releases.
This to me feels like they are waiting for currency exchange rates to fluctuate enough so that the prices are unbelievably low!

That or they just plain forgot.

It does seem silly that we have no details and with the end of April 22 days, the same length of time the US had to pre-order, we are still getting the silent treatment.

Come on Apple, I may well purchase a 3G as well if you just tell me how much to be poorer by.

I have a £100 voucher for the Bullring so I'll be there. Although if we have pre-orders, I'll go that route.

Just to add to your temptation ('cos my 64MB from eBay's on its way), all you need is an eBay $ gift voucher & a US address (I live at Walmart Miami) & you're up & running-dead easy.
I paid £670 for mine-no pictures & no recent feedback, but I've spoken to the seller & he's very helpful-travels to US regularly & told me he was assured by the store there the warrant is international & his local Apple retailer said they were happy to sort his if he needed it. If it's a sealed box full of sand I'll let you know.

Good luck...

I think you'll run out of space quite quickly ;)

Manchester Arndale, although there's an outside chance i could go to Manchester Trafford Centre... probably not though, less coffee shops to try it out in. :D

Might just join you... Krispy Kreme just outside so donuts and iPad goodness :D

Mmmmm Krispy Kreme. I feel very American. Not been to the Trafford Centre for years so it depends.

If the 3G is available at launch I'm gonna be at the Bullring store!

I was in Manchester on Wednesday for the United game and decided to kill a few hours at Trafford Centre. As I left on the bus to get back to the stadium, I saw that Krispy Kreme place.... I think some drool came out and I almost pushed my face through the glass lol

God it's £1501 now!!!! I know it's got case & dock but that's crazy!
It's almost certainly an African scammer using a hijacked American account. The account bidding might be in good standing, but you can tell it's a scam by the ridiculous pricing. They'll put in a massive bid on a good 'western' account. Following the end of the auction they'll pay as usual, but then contact you saying 'they're away on business to Nigeria/whereever' and ask you to post the iPhone/iPad/Macbook to them there. Maybe not in one day or two days, but eventually you'll get an email from Paypal or eBay telling you the account was fraudulent. You'll be out the Apple hardware, the payment, your eBay account and any money in your Paypal account (Paypal and eBay will be closed because of fraud prevention).

It's a well known scam that I've seen happen dozens of times. To remedy against it as a seller, go to Account > Site Preferences > Buyer Requirements. From here, block ' Have a primary delivery address in a country I don't post to'. This is because almost all scam accounts use hijacked American accounts on the UK store, as most UK customers would trust a US address. eBay make it ridiculously difficult to find this preference to change it, but it is possible.

As a buyer, you just have to exercise common sense.
