Where are all the London peeps? Is no one going to the Regent's Street store for the launch? I think I'll just go to my local haunt which is 5 minutes away. Situated in a shopping centre it's going to be a mad dash to the store for all the folks waiting outside! :D

I endorse this post - we need to draw some traffic away from the Trafford centre.

(I live in Cheshire ;) )

London peep here

London peep here, not going to Regent Street tho.
Hope to pre-book it.

Oh and BTW there is a KK at Liverpool Street station for those that didnt know.

ill probably be heading to apple store mk.........

hate the thought of everyone legging it to the store once the main doors open!!

although at least with mk, its close to the doors! (and ill take my baseball bat) :D

LOL..

It's Bournemouth my friends are heading for on the 29th for the week and tempted to get them to purchase for me. I've rang Solutions Inc to enquire if they have any info.

They said no pre-orders, first come first serve.

It's a small enough shop too so not sure how much stock they will get assuming they even get them.

However when I suggested is it ok if I rang them on the April Friday 29th and gave them my Credit Card details to buy a 64GB wifi version would they (my friends) be able to just go in and collect it for me later in the day or the Saturday. He said Yes that would be ok and to ring at 10am first thing that morning...

Is that an admittance on his part that it is out then ? A glimmer of hope perhaps ?

I've been told that they haven't got any info on the iPad, (from a direct employee, who's working with me on my POS app). The thing is, we both want iPad :/

caved in now, asked my mate who's off to NYC this saturday to have a look in the apple store and get me a 32 (or 64)gb.

despite the worries about warranty etc, will save me a lot of time surfing the internet for news :)

I don't mind if there are no pre-orders, as long as the iPads can be purchased online and not just in the Apple Stores. First come, first serve.

I couldn't wait any longer. Just got one off ebay.

Was hoping to have some info about the UK one by now

Unbelievable. All because someone wouldn't tell you a price for something they were going to sell in shops in a couple of weeks.

It's ridiculous, isn't it? Fair enough; they didn't follow through on the release promise, but at least keep us updated! I think the international release is probably pretty low on Apples priority list right now. I'd be surprised if Jobs even knew much about it.

"They didn't follow through on the release promise"

What?

Promise?

Did Steve write you a letter "promising" to get it out "on time"? Dude, they'll sell you their product when they're ready, and they already said end of April! Which it isn't, yet.

Bluewater! That's where I'll be ;)

Wow. Calm yourself. Have you ever heard of a gentleman's agreement? This is a direct quote from Steve Jobs:

Steve Jobs - 27th January 2010 said:
We will be shipping these in 60 days. (While the screen behind says '60 Days Worldwide Availability')

So no, they didn't get it out on time. And yes, loyal customers do have a right to be upset. If you've got more flaming to do, take it to PRSI. You'll be most welcome there.

i was thinking about going to westfield, but imagine how rammed that place will be!!!!!!

i was hoping milton keynes may be a little quieter!

although if its a week day launch i may not be able to make it anyway

LOL have you seen what this ipads going for! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Apple-Ipad-64...ltDomain_3?hash=item3efe984c9a#ht_1340wt_1167
£1420 thats crazy the guy who is selling that must be rubbing his hands together at that amount!
Almost worth flying to the states and bringing back a few! :D

Do you think someone actually bought it for that or just 2 guys messing about with him ...if someone did buy it you gotta be really rich like a drug dealer or something lol .

I'm about to pick up the phone to my friend in the States. He's visitng next week and I think I'm through with waiting...

Nooooo going to the store for the UK launch is apart of the :apple: experience.

I spoke to one of the guys in my local Apple Store over the weekend and they said that they will be doing pre-order collections just like the US. But I am still going to queue up to get one, or at least be there waiting very early to collect it.

Ebay is too tempting, but if without the UK app store and possible warranty issues I think holding out for it is worth it... if you can manage :p

Is there 2 types of preorder , preorder with option of delivery or store pickup ?. Would delivery be free ? .

Also when you preorder with apple do you pay a deposit or the full thing.

You could always save the Apple voucher to use on iPad accessories ;)

Hell yeah thats what to do im looking to buy the official case and im thinking about the keyboard too anyone else gonna get the keyboard.

I still can't quite believe we are 50+ pages into this thread and none of us are any the wiser about something that is 'supposedly' arriving in 2-3 weeks ?

True but it has brought all us brits alot closer :D , i feel like we all know each other now haha . We sulk and moan in this thread while the yanks are acting as if its mardi gras

The 3GS launch at the Trafford Centre was very good. Friendly and atmospheric. They came out of the Apple store early to show anyone in the queue interested. They followed that up with coffee and biscuits.

Was the food free if so nice move by apple

Also did anyone hear about US apps will be available on UK store

I could either be in Exeter or London for the 24th, Exeter may be a better bet, I can't think of a store in London that won't be absolutely crammed to mother***ing hell.

Unless, of course, we get to reserve..

Please please let us reserve...

Anyway, it's now 2 weeks since I posted this thread, I really didn't expect we'd still be waiting by the 6th of freaking April.
