I could either be in Exeter or London for the 24th, Exeter may be a better bet, I can't think of a store in London that won't be absolutely crammed to mother***ing hell.

Unless, of course, we get to reserve..

Please please let us reserve...

Anyway, it's now 2 weeks since I posted this thread, I really didn't expect we'd still be waiting by the 6th of freaking April.

reserve = win!!!! we need to reserve or i may wait it out a while until i aint gonna be stabbed for an ipad..... although in the uk that may be a while

I am told that UK apple employees are getting them in hand today for the first time, so shouldn't be too much longer.

I have had mine for a couple of days and love it.
I paid £510 inc P&P for a 32GB model

It would be good if they release it on the Friday the 23rd, I'd happily take the day off as I think it would be slightly more quieter. I'm going to have to check out Brent Cross and find out the best entrance to wait at.

not sure about keyboard, still deciding with oneself

My £600 iPad from eBay arrived, and I am surprised that he put an iPad dock and keyboard as well as an apple case gratis in it. I'm going to call him to thank him :)

I've just had to disable my eBay and Paypal account, after someone tried to hijack my account - too many scammers on there now, this is the 4th or 5th problem I've has this year after 7 or 8 years of no problems.

Not touching it with a bargepole now. Bring on the pre-orders.

Got my 32gb from ebay for 487 quid and 40 dollars for express postage:D

However according to the tracking site its been sitting in uk customs since april the 6th:(

Goddamit!!! I just want my ipad so i can start complaining about no app store or poor wifi reception:apple:

I never though, a week ago, that 90% of regular posters in this thread would have gone the eBay route by now...

:eek::eek: £600 for the WiFi one

I can get the 64 GB 3G (plus case and wireless keyboard) one for that price ;) which I think I may do as it is Sim Free after all just I'll be screwed until Orange or O2 get the MicroSim plans sorted :)

We are typical brits! Hate to see the americans enjoying themselves with new products without getting in on the act;)

its worse when you know yours is sitting in uk customs, probs with a huge VAT bill attached to it:mad:

delivery is guaranteed for monday so i should have it then, gonna stand me about 600 with vat i think. but who cares i have a tech friendly wife;)

Whoops, I meant £500 :/

If it were £600, I would have wanted 64GB lol

Well, O2 or Orange can screw me as hard as they want to but I'm not going to use the cells at the top of the school buildings.

Also, it pays for you to check the packaging before throwing it out, I got a $20 iTunes voucher - though he didn't mention it in the note he wrote

The note on the box says import duty paid - I asked the deliveryman and he said that I don't owe anything - hmm am I missing something here?

If I don't get a 64GB 3G from New York I will either be in Bluewater

Got mine from New York, :):)

Confused.

Did you or didn't you get it from New York?

I had a friend in LA when it was released but decided to hold out for the UK release. Just makes things easier when dealing with problems in my experience. Although I'm missing the smug points now.
