Well, prices DOES matter for me. Yes, I could probably afford any of 6 versions on offer, but I think it is important not to lose sight of the fact of what the iPad really is -for me, there is a maximum value as to what they are actually worth. The price ranges that have been predicted for the UK really might hit the upper limits of their true value for me. I mean, anything over £550-600 for an iPad is a lot.
Just my opinion ;)

Note: it might not sound like it above, but nobody wants this thing more than I do. I've been glued to the internet since January waiting for news. But I have limits as to which companies and businesses deserve my hard-earned money, and for me an iPad might cost up to 2 weeks wages. When I think of how much work I do in 2 weeks to earn that money, I see it in a new light.

blatantly a troll ^^^ :eek::D:p

totally agree, its easy to get caught up in the hype and buy the biggest!! 32gb for me either wifi or 3g............

Agreed, I could technically afford any of the 6 models but there comes a point beyond which your money is better spent somewhere else. I'm not going to spend £70 for an iPad when the £450 model will do me.

Saying that I can't see myself getting by on 16gb, I'm pretty surprised they even bothered releasing such a model, flash drives aren't that expensive anymore Apple could have easily shifted each SKU up capacity wise without changing the prices and still had huge profit margins. Apple tax is all very well but these days it is starting to eat into the actual specs.

I'll be interested to see the price difference between the standard models and the 3g. Personally I was thinking a 32gb Wifi would be more than enough, the other option would be a 16gb 3G. I can't decide whether 3G would be worth it. Depends if I can get one free on a contract somewhere (Doubtful)

There is no way I'll spend over £450 on one so I hope they come in around that price.

I admit now with a heavy heart--- this morning for the first time I find myself seriously looking at the ebay ipads. :(

For the love of God Apple, COME ON!!!!!!!!!

No, but you could open a dispute in which he would likely make a settlement of an extremely good price for 1. Otherwise he'd be forced to go through months of hastle.

Or he could just say he'd sent it with no proof of posting and then refund you when you don't get your 10 ipads... one for each finger! :)

How late is Late April.

Been following this thread for a while and feel everyone's pain. Looking to get a 3G Ipad esp that i get a 17% apple discount from work.

My personal theory on the delay of UK launch is due to the 3G version.

If I'm not mistaken Apple said both wifi and 3G versions will be released in the UK at the same time. Given the fact that Apple hasn't given a specific date in the US when 3G will be released, I'm assuming we will not hear a release date here till they do first.

There is another thread somewhere on here, where the Americans are speculating the date of the 3g version. I'm watching that thread also. I bet once they get a date, so will we.

Nooooo!! You were always one of the stronger and more resolute peeps here! Come on - you can do it!!! :)

Damn, the way it's going by the time this thing launches here y'all will already have your iPads and I'll have no one to share my excitement with! :(

I totally agree about the iPad only being worth a certain amount, I could afford all versions but for me I wouldnt like to spend more than £500.
I have an app for my iPhone that streams video (even .mkv) from a specified file, so you wouldnt need to sync. It even works over the net! I am planning on getting the 64GB but if they decide to take the piss with UK pricing, ill get the 16GB and stream.
Also, I havent touched eBay for about three years. Too many scammers! Good luck to those of you who already have!

i must admit ebay does suck!!

it also offers poor help and protection for buyers, due to a problem not my fault ive never been able to fully use my paypal account, their system wont let them undo it and thats that!

load of crap IMO

Any speculation on the price for all models?
(based on currency conversion and what UK sellers are selling at?)

I won't be able to, I'm still in school and I can't get 3G because on the IOM no carrier has "microSIMS"

Which is better? 64GB or 32GB with a few accessories/paid apps?

I'm not going for 3G as I already have an iPhone and can't stomach two tariffs, I would go with 64gb if my income was a little more disposable, but I'm a student too even if I've been saving for the Apple tablet for a long time.

If you can afford 64gb and have a lot of media I say go for it, the accessories don't really make or break the experience of owning an iPad but if you found yourself irritated by not having all your stuff with you and having to constantly sync, that might.

But if you don't have that much data, no need.

across the board? :D

With the iPad, is there much need for the MBA? I've always seen the Air as a portable you would only buy if you had a Desktop already.

I'm thinking about either going for a 32gb wifi or a 16gb 3G

I have a 1Gen 16GB itouch

What do you guys think I should do

UK mac rumor nuts avoid eBay and wait for the UK launch

and can anyone tell me how the whole apple preorder thing works

i read a similar thread actually about will the mba now be obsolete!

makes it seems quite pointless now really doesnt it! especially for the cost!!

If the MacBook Air was less than half the current price, it'd be a phenomenally successful product. Right now the price/spec ratio makes it pretty pointless.

Thanks, I agree. I think I'll probably end up getting a 32GB with a case to start, then perhaps some other accessories later on.

A employee at the trafford centre store got told that they aren't allowed the 28th off and that the 24th date was just to mess things up , and that they have to be in the store for 7:30 that morning but yet again they won't say why ............

Oh please say they aint gonna release it on the Wednesday. <sigh>

Ditto. I'm going to be in the centre of Bristol on the 24th anyway so could go to the Cabot Circus store. Launch day in the US was a Sat. so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Just emailed this guy...

$800 = €600 shipped within EU so would avoid tax but...

No photo's of actual ipads, information misleading as mentions 3G, and only 12 feedback.

If he posts pictures of the ipads with his eBay username I may be tempted. Until then it looks too good to be true.

Lets think about this sensibly. He's selling the 64GB iPad for $700 + $100 shipping. So he's making $1 on the iPad.... plus what did it cost him to bring it into the EU? Plus 3G version WTF? If it sounds too good to be true.
