Booked a few days off in preperation, covering all rumored launch dates, 23/26/30th boss laughed at me for booking them all off for the iPad.
Sod's law says it comes out May 3rd!
I ordered a 64gb from ebay last Thursday - thought I'd be more productive if I knew when to expect it - only it's still not been shipped! Hoping it'll be here tomorrow.

Thank god it's not just me. My holiday record card has had three different dates pencilled in so far. I've given up changing them. Now they're all on there with 'or' between them!
BIN. $850 for the iPad + $50 for Delivery. $900 = 680 on the rates that day. Quite happy with price, they promised to put value down as $10 and mark as GIFT for customs, so I'm hoping I won't have to pay anything.
I'd imagine that 680 would be the kind of RRP for the 64GB iPad here anyway.

The delay here might not be directly Apple's. There will be some negotiation going on with 3G network providers so that a package like AT&T's could be offered.

IF that's still be be arranged then apple and the operators are leaving it very late for an end of the month release.
I suspect that those talks were done within days of the original announcement.
All this talk of booking holidays has me concerned, if its the 24th it'll be fine as its my weekend off, if its the 30th im not in till 4 but finish at midnight on the 29th..... not ideal for the early queuing Im thinking booking both those off so me and my iPad can have a nice long weekend!
Remember in the states there's one network. The UK has the most competition, which will mean the most negotiations. It doesn't matter whether those started at the announcement or not they will still take time.

Just got the iPad delivered from ebay and I just have one word to say. STUNNING!
There is really no other word for it. I'm typing fairly fast on the landscape keyboard too. It really is a joy to see and use. Totally worth spending the little bit extra to get it from eBay quickly. Have tonnes of apps ready to use for it. Ibooks is great. The YouTube app is really fantastic. It would be great if I could use the abc player app too , hopefully BBC come out with something similar soon. The games are amazing and the screen is just fantastic. If it sounds like I'm gushing, its because I am

Luckily, my boss is exactly the same - She's well aware of my obession!
So what about Wifi version. That does not require any agreement with Data providers, and Apple already stated in the original Keynote that 3G version would be sim free, ship as same time worldwide with the Wifi version, and data agreements for worldwide countries like UK would 'hope to be in place" (Steve's own words 1:14mins into Keynote) for the 3G in June/July.

So what your basically saying is that if it is delayed because of 3G data agreements + going on Apple's original Keynote = that wont be released until June/July (Steve hopes)
